Having trouble finding self acceptence after eating the food you didn’t want to eat? I’m listening to a ‘tapping’ seminar while I ‘clock in’ …and thinking about the chocolate I ate last night and attempting to feel ok about myself!! sigh…it’s working…a bit. :)

A couple of hours later and it’s all about finding the TIME to write. Anyone with a toddler will understand the madness…and a moody teen!! So there is never ‘nothing to do’ and I can see the wet washing that needs to be hung out and the dishes and the dirty floor but I have to find a way to ignore them and keep my promise to myself to be accountable and record the weeks food journey.

Unfortunately all has not been roses…most days at around 4 my resolve weakens and I end up eating the ‘bad’ stuff…mostly chocolate or bread and peanuttbutter. At least I am conscious of my choices. Really I’m sick of all the excuses and drama and am working on liking myself no matter what. Ugly is a feeling too. I’ve had enough of feeling ugly and the battle continues on a daily basis. I will never give up. Tomorrow is another day.

SarAh, I love your honesty. You say what a lot of us feel and yes, 4:00 is Hard. For me, too, chocolate and peanut butter look good. You’re always a green smoothie or green water away from feeling a whole lot better!
    Here’s to you,

I have a mid-afternoon healthy chocotini almost every day. I use 4 oz choc almond milk, 4 oz unsweetened almond milk, tsp of raw cacao powder, a tbls of cashew butter, and a scoop of vanilla protein powder. I blend then pour it into a martini glass with a garnish of cinnamon. Sometimes I add a date if I want a little extra sweetener. It’s definitely a treat that I can live with.

Hi Sarah, I am sorry to hear that you are still struggling. When I hit my point of no return and I need to eat and don’t have time to make a smoothie (which is more of a mental state and not that I really can’t make one)before I hit the peanut butter jars and chocolate I always eat 2 medjoole dates. Most times the 2 dates are enough for me to come back to reality and take the time to make something healthier to eat. For the times it isn’t enough I eat a few more, then make something healthier to eat!

Being ok with ones decisions can be hard, try repeating the following from the documentary “Hungry for Change” – “I accpet myself unconditionally right now.” Then accept that today is a new day full of new choices and move forward.

    Green Smoothie Power!

Funny thing Tracy; I do that same thing! Sometimes I add a tiny bit of whatever (almond/peanut/cashew) freshly ground nut butter I have one hand to the halves of just one date, and tell myself that I can have more. The one is usually enough to satisfy the craving.

Also, I’ve been keeping some ‘ice cream/sorbet’ (frozen cherries/banana/date or mango banana date…sometimes with a little spinach or parsley) in the freezer.
I make it in the morning before I make my smoothie so that whatever ice cream that sticks to the bootom of the blemder gets blended into the smoothie. I keep the treat in individual bowls in the freezer so that anyone with a craving can just grab it and savor!

        Hi Rebecca,

Cool tip on making your ‘ice cream’ first in the blender and then using the leftovers for making your smoothie. Love it, Anna
