Just bought a Vitamix Prep-3 and was looking around for recipes and love your website!
Hi Tory,
Thanks! Keep us all posted on your blends and share the good ones
Jane
I was looking at buying a vitamix, and then it gave me a choice of container sizes. Which do you recommend?
Hi Lisa,
Unless you are strapped for counter space, I recommend the full size 64 ounce.
They also have a smaller size that fits under the counter, I think it’s either 32 or 48 ounces.
Wishing you as much fun and wellbeing from your VitaMix as I get from mine.
Jane
How do we contact Brenda!! I am in love with you and your site, now I want to fall in love with a Vita Mix!!!
Hi Crystal,
Just give her a call – if her voicemail comes on, leave her a message and she’ll call you back. Thank you for your kind words and support. I appreciate it.

Let me know how it goes.
Hi Jane I just bought aviation prep 3 and I am not sure which setting to use for your smoothies that includes ice and frozen fruits. Do I have to cut my frozen banana in several pieces before blendin and what setting do I use.
Regards sven
Hi Sven,
Congrats on your blender! I hope you get much wellbeing from it.
For ice creams, sorbets and shakes, I usually break the frozen banana into a few chunks, flip it to high and use the tamper to push the frozen fruit into the VitaMix blades. Under a minute and it’s blended.
For ice cream, with all frozen fruit and no liquids, it makes noise and the motor changes sound just before it homogenizes, perhaps a minute or two. Don’t over blend because it will melt.
You’ll know when it’s ready. The VitaMix manual has a section on frozen desserts with detailed instructions.
Let me know how it turns out.
Thank you for the speedy reply, new at this and I love your sight has given me lots of information and tips. Love the videos, being in dubai not many people are into healthy eating and vegan living, have to order everything online and you make it so easy. Txs a mill, and yes I will probably have a few more questions.
I have owned 3 nutri-bullets by magic bullet. I love them and they do a great job of doing my green drinks. However, they don’t last long. One leaked, the next had a bad switch that made it difficult to get started. It’s small and I like it, however, getting tired of doing returns.
In you opinion, if I save the $100 and put it toward a vitamix, will my green drinks still come out liquid without any chunks in it. Chunks make me gag and that’s whats great about the nutri-bullet, everything turns to liquid even nuts.
If you say the vitamix will do equally well as good a job, I think I’ll upgrade. I also like that there is very little clean up with the nutri-bullet. It looks like the vitamix would be like having to clean a blender.
Any thoughts.
Thank you,
Enjoy your channel.
Tony
Hi Tony,
The VitaMix blends smooth as silk, even nuts. I have had mine for 6 years, using it to blend rock hard frozen fruit into ‘ice cream’ and making thousands of silky smooth green smoothies. You don’t have to take it apart to clean, either. It’s one piece.
The VitaMix comes with a 7 year warranty like a car so if you need a new gasket or something in case it leaks, they’ll send you one. Why don’t you call my personal VitaMix contact Brenda Kilbane and pick her brain? Tell her Jane sent you and give her my code for FREE SHIPPING if you decide to purchase. They have reconditioned machines also that will cost less and still have the warranty and if you want a 3 pay plan she can set you up: Brenda Kilbane @ 1-800-848-2649 Ext. 2305. Tell her Jane sent you and give her Code 06-002863 for FREE shipping, a $25.00 U.S. / $35.00 Canadian value.
Like you, I went through several other blenders before getting my VitaMix, which I consider an investment in my health and wellbeing because I use it every day to drink my greens and achieve my dreams.
Hi Jane, I have just ordered a vitamix and cant wait to try your many recipes for green smoothies, soups, and beauty waters. You are so inspiring and your wealth of knowledge is great.Keep up the great work, thank you so much.

Hi Simon,
Thank you for your kind words and support. I appreciate it.
Congratulations on getting a VitaMix. I wish you many happy blends, green smoothies, soups, salsas, ice creams, you get the picture:)
Hope you get as much fun and wellbeing from your VitaMix as I get from mine.
Keep me posted.
Hello Jane
Have you used, or know of anyone who has used, a vitamix to make the fix-in’s for fruit rolls, for use in a food dehyrator? If so, do you know as to any info on the subject?….. Thanks
Hi Gary,
Yes, it’s simple. Blend the fresh fruit smooth in the VitaMix, pour a large circle onto one or more solid sheets that come with your dehydrator. If you don’t have any use parchment paper, so they don’t stick (not wax paper). Dehydrate overnight or about 12 hours. Carefully peel off the fruit leather, flip it over and dehydrate another hour or so. Cut into strips and enjoy. You can use apples, pears, strawberries, etc or a mix of your favorite fruit.
Thanks for writing and asking as I haven’t done a vid on this and now you’ve reminded me. Let me know how they turn out.
Hi Jane,
Thank you so much for your lovely videos and blog! You’ve been instrumental in motivating me to move toward a healthy, anti-aging, energy-filled lifestyle. I recently purchased a Vitamix for myself for my 30th birthday from your site through Brenda and my experience was outstanding. I received it promptly and in perfect condition. Brenda helped me choose the best model for my lifestyle and budget. Today I made my first two anti-aging recipes and I am over the moon about the results. Jane, many many thanks and cheers to a healthy, happy and energetic life!
Jen
Hi Jen,
You’re welcome. Your comments are inspiration for everyone and I wish you as much fun and wellbeing from your VitaMix as I get from mine.
Thank you for purchasing through my site. I appreciate your support.
And thanks for taking the time to comment.
Please keep me posted on your blending happenings.
Well after spending as much as I just have spent buying a real Vitamix, I finally bought a Vitamix. I first bought the $20.00 blender at Walmart. But I must say it did get me started blending. Then I bought the Ninja and last the Bullet thing.
My Vitamix machine will be here tomorrow. And I cannot wait to try all of the recipes that did not quite work in the other machines. I think it is the sticker shock of the Vitamix that scares most people. I know it did me. I thought hundreds of dollars for a blender. But after I got into blending and a new life style, and dropped 40 lbs. I was hooked.
So now I have taken the last step by getting the right tool the Vitamix, to continue my journey to good health.
