Today I want to show you how to make my Cashew Vanilla Heaven Shake. And it is heaven. The recipe is on my website in one of the earlier posts – just go into the search box and enter sesame or vanilla and it will come up, because when I first posted this recipe I used a tablespoon of sesame seeds instead of several cashews. Either way, it’s heaven.

Since I already posted the recipe with the sesame I want to show you how to make it with the cashews.

Here’s all you have to do. Put in 8 or 10 raw cashews, you don’t need many, cashews give it a wonderful, milky texture. 2 tablespoons of my Nectar of the Gods Sweetener. The recipe is in the previous video. It consists of medjool dates soaked in the water from a young coconut. If you don’t have or can’t get a young coconut, just use water to soak your dates. But this is a fabulous sweetener with fiber and electrolytes in it.

Next, add two frozen bananas. All I do is peel ripe bananas, make sure they have the brown sugar spots on the peel, that means they have reached the peak of perfection in ripeness, taste and nutrition. Peel them, put them in a freezer bag and pop them in the freezer. You’re going to be using alot of these, they make ice cream, they are really delectable.

Then all I have to do is put in 1/4 tsp of cinnamon, let’s go with a shake. Then add 1 1/2 tsp vanilla or 1 1/2 inch of vanilla bean. The aroma… I’m getting excited already.

Then add one cup of ice and 2 cups of water. This is what it looks like before we blend it. Bananas, cinnamon, vanilla, cashews… come on.

You’re going to love this. I do. And when I make it I pour it into a couple of glasses and whoever’s here with me gets the second glass and we really enjoy it. Into the VitaMix it all goes. Start it on low, then turn it up. In the VitaMix it doesn’t take long for those cashews to get ground up and smooth, there won’t be anything grainy in here.

Mmm, smells wonderful, tastes wonderful. It’s nutritious, it’s anti aging. There is nothing in here that will stress out your system. Even better, it will feed your system.

Sweet, but not too sweet. I really hope you will make this. It’s delicious, it’s simple, it’s fortifying and it’s anti aging.

[..YouTube..] sounds good. how do i know if my coconut water has gone bad? I opened a baby coconut and the color of the water is yellowish not as clear as yours. This is my first time opening a coconut. Do you think the water is ok?

  2. [..YouTube..] @yaztarlasi Take a spoon and sip the water before using. You will know instantly if it’s no good. If not, return it to the store and tell them so they don’t stock bad produce. Also, if the flesh is tinged purple, I don’t eat it. As for yellow water, I haven’t seen that. Good young coco water tastes sweet, looks clear and and feels refreshing. Your taste buds and nose will know if it’s good or bad. if in doubt, don’t use it, don’t eat it. Keep blending and mending. Jane.

[..YouTube..] Amazing!! Do you soak the nuts first? Thanks for sharing. Take care. :)

These are ABSOLUTELY amazing. Love them! It rmndeis me of this Italian ice cream shop that used to be close by. So creamy and just the right richness. I have a terrible blender that is probably as old as I am and it still worked great. I also melted chocolate and, when I was filling the cups, I added 3 or 4 layers of chocolate to each one very thin layers! (Just dipped the end of a butter knife in the chocolate and then swirled it around the layer of pudding.) It added a great crunch! Next time I want to add a bit of toasted hazelnuts.

  4. [..YouTube..] @BodyTalk2010 I do soak my nuts, but if I remember correctly, I did not soak them in this video. I probably forgot. The only time I don’t soak cashews is if I absolutely do not want excess moisture in a recipe.Let me know if you make this shake and how you like it.Jane

Hi Jane, can I use almonds instead of cashews, would that work OK? I can’t find raw cashews in my local supermarkets or online, so I try and limit using the small amount I have left. Thanks in advance for your feedback!

    • Jane says:

      Hi Leilani,

I don’t recommend the almonds as they will produce a gritty texture. You can replace all or part of the water with almond milk and that would work out great.
Or you can sub 1 TBS sesame seeds for the cashews and keep the water. Would either of these suggestions work for you?
      Keep me posted.

      Jane

[..YouTube..] Is that REALLY a TABLESPOON of vanilla or did I mishear it and it was teaspoon?Ginny

  7. [..YouTube..] @Ginnybit Hi Ginny, it should be a teaspoon, but then I like vanilla, so I may have actually added a TBS, I can’t tell – but go with a tsp.

  8. GoodWhispers says:

[..YouTube..] I love this it’s like a desert but it’s so much better I use cashew butter 1 tea. YUM

  9. [..YouTube..] @GoodWhispers I agree :)
