My VitaMix Anti Aging Watermelon Ginger Detox Drink is a recipe from Dr. Ariel Policano’s website. It is DELICIOUS. Warming ginger and cooling watermelon are accented by tropical lime juice and colored by 8 low glycemic blackberries.

It’s a nutrient dense, anti-oxidant and cleansing flavor heaven. Watch my video to see how easy it is!

NOTE: In the video I say 1/2 TBS of fresh ginger – that’s wrong, the correct amount is 1/2 TEASPOON. Thanks!

Dr. Ariel

I found this recipe on the website of Dr. Ariel Policano, who runs a rejuvenation center, she’s a naturopath. I’ve been wanting to try it, I have some luscious watermelon, so let’s get going. This recipe calls for 4 cups of watermelon, chopped up and put into the VitaMix. Add 1/2 teaspoon of fresh ginger. I grated it so you could see, but you can also just throw a little piece of ginger in whole into the VitaMix and it will grate it for you, I guarantee it.

Walk With Me

1/2 lime, juiced, how tropical. Mmm… this drink is going to hydrate us, it’s going to mineralize us, it’s going to alkalanize us, and it’s going to make us feel fantastic. I know. Because I have found the portal that’s in waterful foods and I have walked through it and I’m hoping you’ll walk through it with me. And then we’re going to add 8 blackberries, she has frozen, I have fresh. I believe either one will do because we’re gonna add a few ice cubes. So 8 blackberries into the VitaMix… a few ice cubes… and we’re good to go.

The Moment

Look at that. This is the moment I enjoy most, when I lift the lid on the VitaMix and get that initial aroma of what we have concocted. Oh! Fresh! The hint of warming ginger and cooling watermelon together… and look at the color. Blackberries, watermelon, a little ginger, a little lime. Come on, I know you want to drink this. I hope you will. I can’t wait to try it. Look at the color, you can gaze at it all day long.

Wow. WOW. Oh, this is fantastic. Do you know this is the first time I have mixed ginger and watermelon and it won’t be the last time. Thank you to Dr. Ariel Policano for this fabulous watermelon detox drink. I’m definitely going to put this into my rotation, There’s a long, hot summer coming and this will come in handy. I can’t recommend this enough. It is uniquely delicious.

why do you use lemon or lime juice and sometimes use pieces of them..what is the difference,,besides pulp? bm

    • Jane says:

Probably because the recipe calls for either / or.

When I use sections of lemon or lime, I leave the white pith on because it helps to nourish the tiny veins in our extremities – one of our members, Elizabeth, educated me on that.

I hope you will try this blend, it is soooo good.

Would like to know what in the makeup of this specific smoothie makes it a detox smoothie. Thanks

    • Jane says:

      Hi Jessica,

This is my opinion only as I am not a medical doctor and can’t give medical advice: the fresh fruits are water filled and require no work for digestion, so while one is on the waterful foods, the energy that used to be used for digesting the more concentrated foods is now liberated to do some house cleaning. The fresh fruits leave no metabolic waste behind, either, and are hydrating and energizing. It’s wonderful to not feel thirsty; some folks mistake thirst for hunger and eat more than their body really wants.

The ginger is antifungal and antibacterial, too. And it tastes so darn good! Try it and let me know what you think.

How often can I drink this Detox smoothie? Thanks

    • Jane says:

      Hi Bee,

It’s whole food so I don’t see why you can’t have it as often as you like, BUT I am not a doctor, this drink is not medicine or a prescription for health issues.
If you have health concerns or special dietary needs, please check with your health care practitioner or doctor about how often you can consume this blend.

As far as flavor is concerned, I enjoy it as often as I have the ingredients!

Hi Jane, I tried my link for K.I.S.S. and I couldn’t find it and I also don’t see the 21 day plan (I think it was 21 days and possibly also 30). Where can I find those? They were so good :) Thanks, Sharon

PS – I started doing green smoothies back and June, thanks to you and I have been doing them daily missing only few days during that time. I make them for both my husband and me. I notice that I feel better from drinking them.

    • Jane says:

      Hi Sharon,
I had to take them down as I am combining and redesigning them into a book. It will be ready soon.
Thank you so much for your kind words and support and congratulations on taking action and making green smoothies a habit in your life.
Others can be inspired by you and your husband.

      • Sharon L says:

Thank you for letting me know. I can’t wait to see them again.

One thing that I’ve found very helpful is to wash and spin
the greens as soon as I get home from the store or as soon as possible afterwards. I find that if the greens are ready to go it makes it much easier for me to make my smoothies in the morning.
