Today I am going to make for you my antiaging, luscious strawberry shake. I made it last night for my family and they proclaimed it so delicious, the first thing they asked me was, ”Have you made it yet?” meaning here on camera, and I said, “Not yet.. I have a list this long I’m getting through that I want to make,” but they insisted so I am throwing the list out for today, we’ll set it aside, we’ll start that list tomorrow and today I am making for you the strawberry shake that I made for my family last night.

Remember that cashew butter we made just last week, and I said to look for all the recipes I’m going to be making with it? Well, this is all that’s left. I continued to use it and we made it in so many things and I made the most luscious cashew candies with it. So, today I still have some left and I’m using 1/4 cup of cashew butter in this milkshake. So add that to the VitaMix first.

Remember how I’m always telling you to make my Nectar of the Gods Sweetener? Where we soak Medjool dates in plain water or in coconut water. If you soak the in coconut water, it’s…but you can use plain water, too. Well today here’s a shortcut. Last night, it so happens I didn’t have any dates soaked. Just use the dates as is, de-pit them and you can use 4 Medjool dates or if you have other kinds of dates, go ahead and use those, too. Shortcut, simple, use what you have, get creative in your own kitchen. That’s what this is all about. Don’t feel any pressure about these concoctions, use them as inspiration for your own, that’s what I do with everybody else’s recipes.

Then, we’re going to add a lot of strawberries… and 22, I like to load the blender up with the strawberries. It’s because this is a very thick, luscious shake. Okay, I’m putting in a couple more. Let’s call that 24 strawberries. Or maybe that was 26, but you get the idea. Load ‘er up.

And, let’s put in a generous splash of vanilla. This is the Simply Organic vanilla from Whole Foods, it’s the Madagascar vanilla, you know, I don’t measure but I’m going to call it 2 tablespoons, and that should be enough. You know, a little vanilla goes a long way. Mmm, with that cashew butter… wait until you taste this. Of course, you have to make it at home to taste it. So, we’re going to get all that going, I’m going to add a cup of water, this is actually a cup and a half, but I want to see where it goes before I tell you how much water’s in there, I like to put it, maybe, let’s see, right about there, you don’t want too much water, okay, let’s call that about 1 cup of water, if I need more I’ll add it but I’ll have you watch and we’ll see how it goes. Now we’re going to blend.

When you hear the VitaMix motor begin to pull like that or change its sound, it’s okay, it’s right in the VitaMix manual that that’s what it’s supposed to do, just let it do its thing and it’ll churn up all those frozen strawberries. See how the sound changed again, it calmed right down. Technically, when that motor changes its sound from Oh my God, it’s gonna blow, to very calm it got over its stress, you’re done with your ice cream or your shake. But I put mine through a little more because I wanted that cashew butter to be really well blended in there.

Look, look, look, is that not gorgeous…okay, and if you want, I just happen to have a little dried coconut, just for looks, if you want, you can garnish it like this. Ah, to be savored, this is so creamy and luscious and the strawberry flavor is intense, with those hints of vanilla, and a hint of that cashew butter so creamy in there, I love it.

  2. [..YouTube..] @PapillonPower Thank you for that compliment on my hair, it has a mind of its own :) No sooner did my husband and I finish the strawberry super smoothie you saw me make in the video, than my son arrived and I made another blender full and we three ate that up, so yes, it’s a staple, sometimes more than once a day!Jane

[..YouTube..] how do you think the recipe would change if I put milk in, not water? Would it be creamier or completely change the recipe?

  4. [..YouTube..] For some reason I could not here you well on this video, it was very low.

  5. [..YouTube..] @thisisyourdream67 Thanks for telling me, I will take care to check the audio from now on, it seemed fine when I uploaded it… but I’ll check it out. Thank you.Jane

  6. [..YouTube..] @Twalters5 Do you mean cow’s milk or a nut milk? I think either one would be fine to replace the water with if you want to. I don’t see why changing the liquid would be a negative thing. It will be different, but probably even better with a milk!Jane

    Looks like a beautiful sorbet!!
Can’t wait to try this. I am due to make a batch of raw nut butter, so here is a perfect reason to get it made quick, so we can all enjoy your yummilicious recipe.
    Peace & Raw Health,
    Elizabeth
PS your audio was fine on my end, could hear you just fine.

      Hi Elizabeth,
My whole family enjoyed this so much I made two batches that day, one for the video and one after, so everybody could have as much as they wanted!
Thank you for telling me your audio was fine. I checked it all out and as far as I can tell it’s fine. Maybe it’s a cyber glitch.
      Many thanks,
      Jane

  9. [..YouTube..] @nakitah1 I tried to figure it out, but I don’t know why the audio is not working properly for some people. It must be a cyber glitch because it works on my computer and portable devices. I didn’t do anything different with this video. I’m sorry! If anybody knows why, please let me know.Jane

I just made this, I quartered the recipe (sort of)… so rich (due to the cashew butter), but delicious – you know you are getting great nutrients when you make any of Jane’s smoothies!!

    p.s – I’m just a tad bit obsessed with your site – I check it everyday! :P

      Hi Joanna,
It’s great to hear from you!
Getting a full screen: in the lower right hand corner of each video is a box with arrows – click on that for full screen and then just hit your escape key to exit full screen.
Donation: You do not have to give a donation to get full screen.

[..YouTube..] I don’t have enough cashews to make cashew butter. Can I just put raw cashews instead? Thanks Jane. =D

  13. [..YouTube..] @titojwonnie Yes, go ahead and use raw cashews – they blend smoothly and don’t leave residue.Enjoy!
