VitaMix AntiAging Starfruit Green Smoothie
My VitaMix Anti Aging StarFruit Green Smoothie is a viewer submitted recipe from Elizabeth: “I threw this smoothie together a few weeks ago because I had a beautiful, local, organic StarFruit that I was determined to use in a green smoothie. It was spectacular – give my smoothie a try.”
I make it in this video and Elizabeth is correct. It’s spectacular.
- 1 large StarFruit, blend with 1 cup water then strain out the seeds and skin through a mesh strainer
- 2 large collard greens
- a handful of parsley
- 2 small bananas
- 1 cup frozen peaches

I’ve never used a StarFruit in a smoothie before, so I’m looking forward to this.
Today’s the day, Elizabeth. I found a large StarFruit. I blended it up with some water, just like you instructed, and strained out the seeds through a juice bag. Of course, you can also use a mesh strainer. Then I rinsed out my blender before I poured the strained juice back into it. And now here we are, ready to make Elizabeth’s StarFruit Smoothie. Look at that beautiful, sunshine StarFruit juice that I made. Very exciting. The StarFruit tastes to me, like a blend of the best fruit. It’s a little citrus-y, a little apple-y, a little tangy, it’s so refreshing… and I love the color. It’s another color of light that we have going on here.
Fruit
This yielded about a cup and a half of juice. I blended the StarFruit with one cup of water. Then Elizabeth says to add 2 large collard leaves. Look at these beauties, I love that blue-green color of the collard green. It’s such a gorgeous, dusky color. These are so good for us, so full of antioxidants. Look, just fold them up and put them in with the StarFruit juice. Then, a handful of parsley. Okay, got it right here, I’ll break off a handful. Add 2 small frozen bananas. Of course, I always have a stash of frozen bananas on hand, I broke them up into a few chunks. Put those in. And, one cup of frozen peaches.
Look at the color. It’s one of my favorite thngs about waterful foods, the fresh, vibrant colors. Before we blend this, I just want to show it to you. Look. Is that not gorgeous? Look in there… see? Look at that… so excited… don’t you wish you could be drinking this right now?
And, as Elizabeth says, “Enjoy the raw, living goodness.” I intend to.

Jane I am sooo excited that you found that beautiful star fruit!!! I am so honored that you featured another one of my smoothies. I just love that one! I like to taste the greens but still have a subtle fruit tone in the backround.
I have to share this with you; every morning I make green smoothies for all five children and this morning our four year old said, “Mom, I want a “booberry green smoothie”. That would be blueberry.
Well here is what I threw together. I call it my “Ain’t Holdin Nothin Back Green Smoothie”

1 organic red apple
small bunch of inner celery stalks, organic only
1/4 of a lemon, peeled, pith on
1 banana, fresh or frozen
1 large curly kale leaf, organic
8 organic dandelion greens
juice of 2 Honey tangerines
1/4 C spring water (optional–I have a cheap blender!)
2 T Hemp seeds
1 T chia seeds
1/2 C ice
This smoothie is a complete meal and will keep you going strong until lunch time. The chia and hemp are the key–don’t leave those superfoods out!!

[..YouTube..] @SurJones Yes, the seeds would emulsify but I don’t know if they are safe to eat, so I didn’t use them.
