How Do I Know?

Today I am making my Anti-Aging Pineapple Basil Pudding. It’s an unusual combination. How do I know it’s going to go together? Well, if you’re ever in doubt, just take a little piece of the green and a little piece of the fruit you’re thinking about combining, and take a bite. All you need is 2 cups of fresh, ripe pineapple. If you noticed, I had a pineapple sitting here ripening over the last few days. Finally cut it open and it is delicious. Smells fantastic, it’s sweet and juicy and it’s a deep, golden color. Look at that beautiful, fresh pineapple. We want that.

Goodness and Life

And one cup of fresh basil. I used some fresh basil yesterday, when I made the Alfredo sauce, remember? I just love the aroma of fresh basil, so I’m going to put one cup of basil leaves in there with the pineapple. And that’s all that’s required. A magnificent color of green goodness and life. This is fantastic. Think how it will be chilled as a pudding. Pour the rest into a bowl. Look at that. You can put it into the refrigerator and let it chill. See that?

You have your Pineapple Basil pudding… you have your Pineapple Basil green smoothie… I’m going to have this now. And I’m going to chill this for later on. I came up with the basil pineapple combination just because that’s what I had in the refigerator and I wanted to use it. I’ve kind of been in a basil mood, as you’ve probably noticed. Some of your best smoothies, some of your best green goodness will come from just using what you have in the refrigerator and experimenting.

      Hi Elizabeth,
There seems to be no end to the waterful wonders – some of my best stuff happens with no planning, just using what’s on hand. Love it. :)

[..YouTube..] You might consider adding 1/2 – 1 teaspoon of plain gelatin to the mixture before chilling for a more pudding like texture.

  6. [..YouTube..] @wpc1013 That’s an idea….

For the pudding I think I would add some white chia seeds for thickening.I just bought my VitaMix last week & made your green ice cream last night…KILLER !
I have been wanting a VitaMix since the ’70s when I used to read Mother Earth News. Couldn’t afford it then.

The chia seeds are an excellent tip – thanks!
I hope you get as much fun and wellbeing from your VitaMix as I get from mine.
