VitaMix AntiAging Part 5 Finale Backyard Dandelion Salad
My VitaMix Anti Aging Backyard Dandelion Salad is the PART 5 FINALE to my dandelion series on enjoying this bitter green. You don’t even need a blender. Just a bunch of dandelions and a knife.
There will be more delish dandelion concoctions and elixirs in the future, too, so if you are a dandelion lover or want to become one…. make this and post your comments and questions!
Dandelion Massage
Well, today is the grand finale of dandy dandelion week. We’ve gone through quite a bit of dandelion with our green smoothies. But today I promised no blender necessary and I mean it. All you have to do is get a knife and cut up some delicious, fresh dandelion, pour a little olive oil, squeeze of lemon juice, touch of sea salt, touch of ground black pepper, and massage it with your hands. The massaging breaks it down and renders it very tender. I don’t know about very, but tender-er. And the longer you let it set in the fridge after you’ve massaged it, the easier it is to eat.
I love my green smoothies but we still have to chew our food. We need stuff to chew to make our teeth and jaws strong so our teeth don’t fall out. Mmm… you can put this simple dandelion salad on a steaming hot bed of rice, with some crusty french bread, stuff it into your sandwiches, add other toppings besides the thinly sliced red onion that I added. Do whatever you want to it. Using dandelion as the base of a salad opens up a wonderful new arena for you. Mmm… I love that little bit of salt, and the lemon and the olive oil.
The Way To Go
If you want to combat cravings, this is the way to go. When you chew your greens, it takes some work. It takes some energy. It takes a little bit of thought. And then your processes begin to change. When your through eating, even a small amount of this salad (I’m not going to eat all of this in one sitting), you’re thinking differently because you’ve done something wonderful for yourself. So now you’re not so sure you want to treat yourself poorly. Get your greens and achieve your dreams. It really does work.

[..YouTube..] Where do you get the dandelions? In your yard? The ones in my yard have been eaten up by bugs lol.
[..YouTube..] @potterylady1 I got the dandelions in this video from Whole Foods. They were HUGE bunches. I buy my greens wherever I find them and enjoy going to local markets, but that happens less than going to the WF on the corner, because of the convenience.:)Jane
Great salad Jane, I told you before how much I adore dandelion greens. Thanks for sharing!!
Hope you had a wonderful Mother’s Day.
Peace and Raw Health,
Elizabeth
Hi Elizabeth,

Thank you! I know dandelions are hardcore greens, but like you, I now enjoy them
Had a great Mother’s Day, thank you. I hope you did, too, with your beautiful family.
