Let’s get started with a couple of tomatoes. These are regular tomatoes out of the supermarket, you don’t have to buy anything expensive, in fact, you can get the Roma or Plum tomatoes, which are usually the least expensive tomato, put a couple right in the blender. No measuring, no complicated recipes, here’s some celery, I like to use the inside of the celery that includes the leaves, just listen to that crunch, put that into your blender. Here’s a big bunch of parsley, but I’m going to use about a half of it, because I want to add some mixed greens to this, also. So look, you don’t even have to take the stems off, just wash it, get a great big handful, put it into the blender.
I am using an entire long English cucumber. It adds so much water, it adds the silica for our skin, it has so many wonderful qualities, and I’m not peeling this one because it’s organic. Put it in the blender. and then, how about a big handful of mixed organic greens. Now, I got these from Costco, you know how you can go to Costco and they have the big plastic bins of organic mixed greens? Lately I’ve found that they’ve been very fresh. If not, I take them back, so save your receipt. Put that in the blender.
We’re going to load it up. Every one of these ingredients is full of water. Naturally purified water that you don’t have to pay for, you already bought the food, why go out and pay extra for the water? And now, since I’m on a ginger kick, I’m putting in a little circle of ginger.
Now I’m going to squeeze a little bit of lemon juice in there. As I’ve learned, a little bit of lemon juice, which you may think is sour, actually makes the bitterness of the greens go away. It complements it in some way, I’m not a scientist, I don’t know how, but look at that color, why would we not want that in our savory smoothie. Ok, squeeze it in there. I can smell it, it smells fantastic. Look at that. Let me show you how beautiful. This is what we’re going to blend up and consume. This is what I’m going to blend up and consume and if you want some you have to make it in your own kitchen.
The aroma coming from here… is sensational. It is so fresh. Have you ever gone into a summer garden and you just are captivated by the aromas and the colors? That’s what’s in this smoothie. Remember, we have not added any salt. I think I just changed the name to my VitaMix AntiAging Drink Your Garden Green Smoothie. This is really luscious.

Jane,
That looks so delicious. I have everything but the parsley–I have cilanto and dill, now I just have to decide which one to use
Yummy!
Peace & Raw Health,
Elizabeth
Hi Elizabeth,
The best thing about green smoothies is that we can all use what we have on hand. Yours will be delicious, no matter whether you use cilantro or dill

[..YouTube..] Thanks Jane! I am going to make one this week. You make it look so yummy. I am going to have the whole family “Drinking the Garden”!

[..YouTube..] @theknuts6 Look for my “Salsa Smoothie” in the next few days. I think you’ll love it. It’s a savory smoothie with kick and after I made the “Drink Your Garden” I wanted to make this one. Thanks for nudging me out of my too much fruit rut.Jane
[..YouTube..] I started making these just a couple weeks ago after watching another YT channel. I’m so glad to see your version today!I love eating it in a bowl as a soup (thinking Ann Wigmore’s Energy Soup). I love adding my home grown sunflower greens. I also love adding cumin and cilantro.I dice up a sweet bell pepper and pour the soup over it. Now I’m off to watch your “Salsa Smoothie” which sounds wonderful! Thanks Jane!Debbie *Ü*
[..YouTube..] @4007fairview Hi Debbie,I agree – it’s great that many smoothies are soup in a glass and many soups are smoothies in a bowl – it’s all so simple. The beauty’s in the simplicity. Let me know what you think of the Salsa Smoothie and any modifications or improvements you make – I love cumin, grew up on it..I love getting feedback, I learn so much from it and I thank you for taking the time to comment.Jane

Just watched your video for Drink Your Garden Green, and I am sooo happy to figure out what will make all greens taste good enough to really enjoy it (without the fruit), and that is the LEMON juice! Since viewing this yesterday I’ve made three different versions of it using all sorts of mixtures of greens. I’m on an eating plan called Metabolism Miracle, and Phase I allows no fruit or milk, so I was trying to find the right combo to make it really taste great, and the lemon juice was the answer! Didn’t have any ginger to try, but I’ll get some! Thanks! I really look forward to my green smoothie with each meal!
Hi Cheryl,
That is great news. I know how good it feels to really look forward to drinking greens because they taste good.
That’s the key!
So glad I could help.
