VitaMix AntiAging Cilantro Sorbet With Jalapeno Mash
My VitaMix Anti Aging Cilantro Sorbet With Jalapeno Mash is a circus of exciting flavor combos: cool and savory meets sweet with heat.
Frozen grapes and cilantro are all that are needed to make the velvety green sorbet. Top it with minced jalapeno that has been sprinkled with sea salt and lightly mashed with a wooden mallet and you are off to the sweet with heat races. Yum.

A Little Bit Of Heat
Today I am making my Anti-Aging Cilantro Sorbet. It’s savory and sweet with a little bit of heat. It has a jalapeno mash topping to it. I want you to try this. It’s a unique combination of flavors. All it requires is one cup of frozen grapes. You can freeze grapes so easily. I buy them on sale, I can’t use them all up at once, wash them, drain them, pop them in the freezer and then you have a big freezer bag ready when you need it. Add a cup of grapes to the VitaMix. Sounds like marbles going in there. They are so velvety and creamy after the VitaMix gets through with them. They make a fabulous texture for a sorbet.
And then I want you to add about a handful of cilantro. As much as you like. I tend to go overboard with the cilantro, as a former cilantro… I didn’t like cilantro for a long time, now I just love it. Mmm, and I love to stuff the blender full. So, the greener you want your sorbet, the more you can put in there. If you don’t like cilantro, you can always stuff this with parsley or spinach. You know how I make my recipes, they are to inspire you, I don’t want you caged in by them, I want you to take them and run. So, I’m putting in almost, well, almost the whole head. That’s all that goes in the sorbet, is the cilantro and the frozen grapes. Then I’m going to show you quickly how I make the topping for it. Gives it a little bit of heat, a little bit of salt. Okay, here we go.
Okay, our cilantro sorbet is ready. Look in there. Can you see that? It’s a deep dark green with litle purple flecks from the grapes, from the little skins on the grapes. so, I’m going to use an ice cream scoop… and remove a scoop… put it into a lovely goblet… maybe another scoop in there… look at that. Kind of like a soft serve, you want to eat this immediately. Isn’t that gorgeous?
The Mash
Now, here’s what I like to use for the topping. I took a half of a jalapeno pepper, see that? Scraped the seeds out, diced it up a little bit, sprinkled a little salt on it, mashed it with my wooden mallet. You don’t want to mash it into a paste, you just want to put a little pressure on there and release the juices from the jalapeno and then take some… look at that. Sprinkle a little bit, remember, it’s got a little salt on it, right on top of your cilantro sorbet.
Green, green, green. Drink your greens, eat your greens, get your greens. Look at this. Look at that spoonful of goodness. This is unique. Quite a delectable conglomeration of salty and sweet, crunchy and heat, cool and refreshing. Mmm… very proud of this one. This is great.
So, I hope you will try my Cilantro Sorbet with Jalapeno Mash and let me know what you think. This is my breakfast! Mmmm… love it. Full of life giving water, nutrients, flavor, flavor, flavor. This is anti-aging. Because when you are this happy when you’re eating, you just don’t feel old. Okay, my last bite and then I gotta go.

[..YouTube..] @wondermom07 Please let me know what you think after you make it. It is unusual and so delicious. I love surprises like this.Jane
[..YouTube..] I love cilantro and usually add an ice cube of cilantro to each green smoothie I make (I pack cilantro in an ice cube tray with some water and freeze). This recipe is awesome! It is perfect and the little bit of heat makes this a really great treat.
[..YouTube..] @dfrisable Thank you! I like your cilantro ice cubes – fresh cilantro and water rather than blended like I usually do. I’ve been planning to do an “ice cube” show and your cilantro ice cubes are definitely going to be part of it. Beautiful green ice cubes here we come.Jane
[..YouTube..] It makes me so nervous watching you stuff your hand into your vitamix.
[..YouTube..] @wpc1013 I’m using an ice cream scoop, the blades are not running and the container isn’t on the motor – unless you mean when I am using the tamper to press the cilantro and frozen grapes into the blades? If so, no need to worry as the tamper is made to clear the blades, even when they are running. All is well.:)Jane

Wow Wow Wow this is soooo good.
What a crazy combination. Looks kind of nasty, but if you are blending your greens sometimes things aren’t as pretty as they are good.
The jalapeño’s add so much goodness. Thank you for all of your ideas.
You’re welcome!
