My VitaMix Anti Aging Caramel Shake tastes like someone took a candy bar and liquified it, it’s that good.

In fact, it’s better, because there’s no refined sugar, no dairy, no chemicals, no empty calories. It is a delicious treat and a nutritious food all at the same time. You get nutrient dense dates, bananas, and almond milk.

It’s calcium, fiber, and potassium rich in a frosty, creamy, caramel-y shake. Make this and post your comments and questions!

Pure White

Today I am making my Anti-Aging Caramel Shake. I made it 3 times over the weekend and each time everybody loved it. All it requires is a cup of this beautiful, pure white almond milk, and remember, I showed you how to make it. I’ll put the link to how to make almond milk in your VitaMix up there. Now, on the VitaMix, it’s got the measure marks for cups and milliliters and all that business so just put in one cup of the almond milk, about that much.

And 2 bananas, frozen. By now, you should have a stash of frozen bananas in your freezer. You just peel a ripe banana, making sure it has the sugar spots on it, on the peel, because that means that the banana has converted from starch to sugar and it’s at the peak of its nutrition, taste, ripeness. Break them up and add them in there. And I just peel them, put them into a Ziploc bag and pop them into the freezer. It’s easy, you don’t have to think about it, and then when you want to make something like this, everything’s ready.

Nectar of the Gods

And you’ve got your NOG in the fridge, my Nectar of the Gods Sweetener. Look at this. This is Medjool dates soaked in coconut water. If you don’t have that it’s fine, just soak it in plain water. The point is to soften the dates and create some soak water to put in your shakes and goodies. Look at that. It’s like a liquid gold. And it gives this shake its caramel-y flavor because it’s combined with some vanilla.

And then, about a tablespoon of vanilla. I’m using the organic Madagascar vanilla, I just got it from Whole Foods. There’s lots of good vanillas on the market. So, I’m just going to estimate. I’m going to put in about a tablespoon, look at that. Delicious. Wait til I blend this up and you see the consistency. I wish you could taste it. You have to make it so you can write to me and tell me what you think of it. It’s a winner. I know that because I had men, women and children drinking it this weekend and they all loved it. From age 3 to 63. Ok, let’s go. Start it on low so it doesn’t blow all over the blender. Then you can kind of walk it up a little bit… then flip it to high.

Anti-Aging NOW

Look at that. Let’s have a sip. Mmm… …you just want to roll it around in your mouth so it stays there awhile. It’s creamy. It tastes like caramel. It tastes like some kind of a candy bar that got liquified. Look at that. Hmm, it’s got little brown specks in it from the dates. You are going to love this. Potassium from the bananas, alot of fiber from the bananas and the dates. The vanilla… calcium from the almond milk, too! Just gives it that wonderful flavor. Delicious. And of course, it’s anti-aging. There’s no dairy in here, there’s no cholesterol in here, there’s no white sugar in here. There’s nothing to clog our arteries or cause blood sugar spikes.

There’s fiber in here, so you stay stabilized and so that all your plumbing is in great condition. Did I mention calcium from the almond milk :) It demands no energy from your digestive tract, so that it liberates your own energy so that you can get more done or nothing done or lay in a hammock. The point is you feel good and every time I eat something like this I say wow, that was delicious and I’m glad I ate it. Mmm, I never have any regrets from my waterful food.

Speaking of which… if you go to my website, and I want you to do this – go click on the ANTI-AGING NOW tab because my protocol is coming up and I want you to join it. And you can even put your name and email in there to get on the list and it says, the #1 RESULT I want from ANTI-AGING NOW. If you tell me what you want, then I can put that in my protocol, very excited… it won’t be long now before I’ll be able to announce that we’re launching.

Hi Jane! Just made this recipe and had to say how delicious it is! I was a little skeptical at first, given the ingredients… thinking how could this turn into a creamy milkshake? It does and it is awesome!
My boys were skeptical too… I am a new vitamix owner and have been trying new things out on them… so when I made this, I asked if they wanted to try the milkshake, they did… and they really liked it!
I am so excited to be able to make them a delicious and nutritious treat! No more ice cream in our milkshakes… we just found our new recipe! Thanks SOOO much for your web-site and ALL the great
recipes! I am a big fan and have been telling others about you!

Newbie here. I love, love your videos and the website. I see you use the NOG sweetner a lot. I’ve had a hard time finding the Medjool dates where I live. Does it need to be those specific kind or will another type of date work? Thanks for all you do! :)

    • Jane says:

      Hi Melissa,

Welcome! You can use any variety of dates. Medjools are the biggest, softest, sweetest and moistest but use what you can find and give them a mashing and stirring to break them up.

Some date varieties are drier than others.

Keep me posted on how your NOG turns out.
      Jane

  22. Karin says:

Jane, I’m not crazy about the flavor of banana. If I let my bananas ripen until they’re almost totally brown will they taste milder than when they’re just barely ripe? I can only stand about half a banana in any recipe because otherwise that’s all I taste.

    • Jane says:

      Hi Karin,

      Taste is so subjective!

I don’t like over-ripe / almost brown bananas, but you might, and they might taste more mild to you.

If you only like a half banana, try adding a date to sub for the other half or a natural sweetener.

I notice that the longer I drink my greens, the less sweetener I need, so that may happen for you, too, and a half of a banana may soon be enough.

Please keep me posted as to what the brown bananas taste like to you.
      :)
      Jane

Jane!!! This is delicious! I had soaked almonds and medjool dates ready for almond milk, but I just couldn’t wait. So I put soaked almonds a couple soaked dates with a cup of the soaking water (mmmm mmmm), whirred that up. Then I didn’t bother straining, added frozen banana, cinnamon, and that wonderful vanilla. OMGoodness girl…it was the best. Tasted absolutely sinful. What is your word? Oh yeah, luscious. Then, when my appetite and tastebuds were assuaged, I continued to make my milk. Thank you for a tasty treat.
