VitaMix AntiAging BodyTalk Green Smoothie
Straight Down
Today I am making my anti-aging BodyTalk2010 Green Smoothie. It comes to me from BodyTalk2010, who submitted this smoothie and said, “Hi Jane, I love to drink it straight down. After a few seconds or minutes I can feel the energy of living foods energizing my body.” Well, I want that, too, don’t you?”
Add celery, cucumber, baby spinach, lemon and apple. It’s my favorite green drink.” Here’s some celery, I like to use the inside leafy parts if I have them. I get those long, English cucumbers from Costco, they come in a 3-pack and they’re certified pesticide free. I’m using a half a one of those. Add that to the blender. Baby spinach, you can also get that from Costco, I’m not pushing Costco here, I just happen to get my greens this week from Costco. They’re fresh. These are organic, baby spinach, washed, dried, easy to use. Remember, less work, more health. So put them in there. Get your greens wherever you like. I buy them wherever I find them.
And then, lemon. I’m using one half lemon. I cut off the peel, but I left the white pith on and removed the seeds. That’s freshness and sunshine. That’s what we want to be like, correct? Fresh? Sunshine-y? I’m adding it to the VitaMix. And an apple. I guess it’s Costco day today. They’ve got a 10lb bag of Red Delicious, organic apples. Large, crispy, juicey, just the way you want an apple to be. And I cut one up, they’re organic, and I’m adding one of those large, Red Delicious apples in.
Combine In Mind
So, I’ve got everything in the blender that BodyTalk2010 said and I’m also adding 1 cup of water, just to get it going a little bit. There we go. This is going to make a delicious blender full. That was 30, maybe 45 seconds. Check out the aroma. Mmm… celery, apple, lemon. Exactly what we put in. That’s the good thing about fresh foods – they taste, after you finish combining them, exactly how they tasted going in, so you want to combine with that in mind. Look at the bright, vibrant green. A little bit of cleansing lemon in there. And from the skins on the apple, you can see there’s little bits of red in there, it’s beautiful.
It’s best to roll the green smoothie around in your mouth and let your saliva work with it, because digestion begins in the mouth. We’re not supposed to gulp and gobble our green smoothies. It’s difficult not to because they’re really tasty, but try to sip and savor. I’ll try now. Definitely the way to go. Thank you BodyTalk2010 for your wonderful recipe. I love getting these recipes. I look forward each day to making a new recipe. That way I don’t get in a rut, either.

[..YouTube..] @4007fairview Hi Debbie,You’re welcome and thanks to BodyTalk2010, too!Jane
Looks wonderful Jane. I think I will make mine with the fresh organic dandelion greens I just got!!
Peace and Raw Health,
Elizabeth
Hi Elizabeth,
I love dandelion, too. Who knew? But that’s one of the many great benefits of green smoothies.
Not being afraid of and actually enjoying bitter greens.
Jane
Hi Jane, Great smoothie- I drink a version of this and it is sooo good. I had a question that I wondered if you would share the answer. What does your daily food intake look like. I get discouraged mid afternoon and start grabbing non-raw food and ruin my plans to stay raw. Green smoothies are the eastest way for me to eat raw. How much do you consume in a day? I think I’m addicted to cooked food. It’s hard getting over the hump. I have digestion issues and this is my reason for wanting to go raw. Any help would be appreciated!! Thankyou Pam
Hi Pam,
Great questions! I have gone through exactly what you are asking about.
It’s way too much for me to share in a meaningful way that is helpful to you in a comment box.
I will send you an email with info about my private calls program.
Your questions reveal that you are ready to see results.

[..YouTube..] This would never work in my blender, but it looks lovely in the VM. Thanks for sharing.
[..YouTube..] @edeneating Try reducing the ingredients and adding more water. Or do it in batches. I started with an underpowered blender, too, and while my smoothies weren’t smooth, it got me started. I am constantly advising: do something, start somewhere.:)Jane
Hi Jane you look great, i have a wonderful recipe, 3 cups of kale, 1 cup of collard greens, 1 banana, 1/2 apple, 1 cup of pineapple, 2 cups of water, and and 1/2 cup of pineapple juice. Then blend in vitamix. Enjoy
Hi Noah,
Thank you for your kind words and the recipe. It’s on the list to make on camera (crediting you, of course).
Kale and collards is a powerful combo, I look forward to making this.
