When you buy a bag of fresh, organic, already trimmed, already washed organic greens, that is keeping it simple for you.

You can check and make sure the bagged greens are fresh, make sure there’s no slime, shake the bag up and make sure everything moves around easily, and for a mere $2 you can’t beat this. Plus, you get to rotate your greens, and there’s a nice mix of greens in here. So all you have to do is open the bag and pour it into your VitaMix.

I used 3 of these beautiful, ripe pears, there’s about 100 calories in a pear, so do the math, 300 calories to the 3 pears and 100 calories to the 5 cups of greens makes 400 calories worth of oxygen filled, chlorophyll filled, life giving, health giving, no energy required to digest, cell reinforcing and cell informing food. These are the best 400 calories you are ever going to partake of.

So don’t even think about calories, I’m just trying to give you some different pieces of information. There are no downsides to this that I can find.

Okay, let’s blend it up. Look at that, there’s 5 cups of green smoothie. Oh, it just smells so delicate. Pears are very delicate. They’re delicately flavored, they have a delicate aroma to them. This is delicious.

All those greens and it only took a mere 3 pears to temper the taste. And if you want it tempered even more just add more fruit. When you’re making a green smoothie, remember, if the final product is too green, add fruit. Too sweet? Add greens.

You can pour it into several glasses… I put the glasses right in the fridge uncovered and they stay all day. The fiber in the green smoothie keeps them green and keeps them from oxidizing. Mmm, this is a delicately flavored concoction.

Have a favorite smoothie? Keep it simple, send it in and I’ll make it on camera.

  1. It was so good to see you last weekend! I just gave mom the whole scoop on our day together. I think we should plan on a day of Lebanese baking at Tim & Sandy’s next year – what do you think? Love you!

Sounds good, I’m definitely up for it – Grapeleaves and kibbee nyee for sure – But I’m going to have to clone myself since in my enthusiasm I told both Cindy and Sandy I’d be at their houses next year for Christmas and they live 400 miles apart! We’ll figure it out. BTW: I love your blog and feel like I am really getting to know you as a whole person, something we simply can’t accomplish in 4 hours a year!
