Hi Jane,

I am at home today as I had a really bad gallstone attack last night and I just felt unable to cope with going to the office. Usually, I make a smoothie every morning for my family for breakfast but I simply didn’t have the energy to even get out of bed and make one today.

However, as the morning wore on and I started improving, I really craved a green smoothie so I finally got up and made myself one. I had to use ‘left-overs’ but it turned out to be really tasty and refreshing. I used purple grapes, a peach, a pear, baby spinach and some peeled cucumber.

Then I went and fetched a long glass and my new glass straw (isn’t it pretty?) and I had an immediate ‘pick me up’. This  smoothie was more ‘brown’ than green in colour. But knowing that it had my greens in it was good enough for me. And it tasted delicious :)

Hi Toni,

That pic/color is gorgeous – it’s going right on my blog – with your permission of course.

The reason I want to put your letter and pic on my blog is because it is inspiring to others and it shows them that real people are drinking their greens. We are real people, not machines, and we have gallstone attacks – yet we keep on.

You are a beacon to others, Toni, and I want to share you with the world. That smoothie is downright happy and I love the bubble glass it’s in. It also telegraphs that not all green smoothies are green, but all green smoothies have greens in them!

Lettuce blend and mend together,

Jane
