    Anti-Aging Creamy Lemonade!!!!!!!

THE BEST! I make it every day and bring it to work for my “sweet fix” during my shift. I also add ice to it so it’s frostier.

Absolutely yummy and a great way to incorporate more lemon into my daily routine.

    Thanks, Jane!!

    Hi Bernadette,
    You’re welcome!! and I couldn’t agree more :)
It’s so delicious I don’t want to swallow it cuz then it’s gone.

  3. Anna says:

Sounds good, where can I find the recipe? I’ve tried the search buttom on creamy and lemon…but nothing :(

    Hi Jane !

I was at the store yesterday and saw a fresh bunch of organic mustard greens? What’s a mustard green and have you tried to make a smoothie with it? I’m wondering what it tastes like before I take the leap to purchase it :)

    • Jane says:

      Hi Anna,

You have hit upon the one green I don’t like. It’s not the green, it’s me, as I know so many people who find mustard greens delectable. I don’t.

To me, they have a hot, spicy, sharp flavor that, try as I might, and I tried them several times, because I wanted them in the rotation, I just didn’t like and I didn’t feel good on them – every time, my stomach felt funny after ingesting mustard greens.

Yet, I crave dandelion greens and feel great on them… which many people will not consume.

This is important, as it speaks to the point that we are each different, and drinking green smoothies is an art we must refine for ourselves – you may try mustard greens and love them.

Of course, I’m speaking of fresh mustard greens, and not cooked, which can be flavored so many different ways.

TIP: when in the store, break off a leaf, take a bite and taste it – chew thoroughly – do it again if need be – walk around the store and do other shopping – really listen to your body and mind’s reaction – it will tell you everything you need to know.

I did this with watercress, as I had never eaten it before I began green smoothies, and I have added it to my rotation; but mustard greens – not gonna happen.

      • Miss Anna says:

Thanks for your honesty! Ok….let me ‘chew’ on this for a while and i’ll come back and comment after i’ve tried them :)

I made a green smoothie today that included mustard greens and they completely took over. The smoothie was spicy and tart. I don’t mind the tart but the spicy didn’t set well with me its seems to have upset my stomach a bit and has left it with a slight burning sensation. It reminded me or horse radish which I don’t with seafood and roast beef.
I too don’t think I’ll be using mustard greens again.

Ok y’all… This is not exactly a recipe, but it is yummy, and I think that you can personalize your version of it. I didn’t measure anything really, but here goes:…oh and I think it tastes kinda potato salady

*Heart of romaine cut up into salad-sized bites
*Kidney beans…maybe it was a half cup or more
    *Avocado…1/4-1/2 depending on just how much you love it. Slice it;
chunk it; mush it…however you are inspired to get ‘er in there
    *Orange pepper…what size is yours?
I used a quarter of the one I had (diced)
*Sunflower seeds…I threw a handful in
    *Olive oil
    *Lemon
    *Himalayan Pink sea salt
    *Pepper
    *Raisins….I couldn’t help myself!
WOW! what a yummy yummy treat!

Do you have recipes for the pulp of almond milk?

  8. Anna says:

Fay. I’ve thrown the pulp on a dehydrator tray and dried then ground into coconut flour in my vitamix blender. It seems to work well to bake with and is easy. You could maybe use this ‘flour’ as a binder with cocoa, coconut almond butter, etc to roll raw truffles with. Have fun, Anna

    Hi Jane,

Where do you get your wonderful, large, wide mouthed jars. I was just watching the great mexican beauty water recipe and saw yours, thx, Ann

Thank-you so much for your recipes and your videos. I bought a Vitamix last year and although I have used it every single day, I make pretty much the same thick smoothie all the time. I am so excited to try G-water and learn how to open a coconut and love the idea that my purchase will keep me busy learning how to get healthier for a long time to come.

    • Jane says:

      Hi Abby,
Welcome to Blend It and Mend It!
Thank you for your kind words and support. I appreciate it.
I hope you get as much fun and wellbeing from your VitaMix as I get from mine. :)

Regarding the mustard green topic above. I don’t mind mustard greens but I do have a funny story about them.

When I first started making green smoothies back in June, I bought a bunch of mustard greens. I don’t recall what fruit I mixed them with but I used only mustard greens and no other green in my smoothie. It was pretty bad. My husband and I drank the smoothie because we don’t like to waste things but it was pretty difficult and took us at least an hour to drink one 16 oz glass.

So if using mustard greens, I would just putting a few leaves in with some other milder greens.

      Hi Running Pal,

‘Life begins at 60′ so you’re still young! Congrats on your VitaMix, I hope it brings you as much fun and wellbeing as mine brings me.

Every green smoothie is great for runners due to their high nutrient density and little to no energy needed for digestion. But if you want a runner’s green smoothie forum to check out what runners are doing with their green smoothies, here’s one: http://forums.runnersworld.com/forums/nutrition-weight-loss/general-nutrition/green-smoothies

And there’s always http://www.runningraw.com/ – he’s a raw foodist, but you don’t have to be to enjoy green smoothies (I’m not). He consumes lots of green smoothies.

Let me know how your race goes and if green smoothies contribute to your success.

WOW!!! AMAZING!!! I just made your anti-aging drink. 1/2 lemon, 1 cup water and your NOG sweetner. I will make ice pops. I also put the NOG on my whole grain toast for breakfast. How much NOG can i have in a day to stay healthy and not gain weight. NOG satisfies my sweet craving alot. but i need to loose weight. Love ya and your recipes / website.

    • Jane says:

      Hi Deb,
Thank you for your kind words and support. I appreciate it. Glad you like the NOG. I don’t know how much NOG you can eat to lose weight, you’ll have to factor it in to your overall food intake, activity, etc.
As with everything, enjoy but don’t overdo it.
