Today I am making my Minty Lemon Beauty Water. I got a note from Janis. Hi Janis, how are you doing? She says, “Jane, I love your Beauty Waters. I have a couple of combos for you. Pineapple cilantro and lemon mint, a classic.” Of course. Where has my head been? I have been concocting all these great Beauty Waters and I forgot the classic lemon mint, so I’m making that today. Thanks, Janis, for reminding me.

If any of you have Beauty Water blends that you want me to make, send them in, I’d love to hear from you.

I’m starting with 6 cups of water. You don’t have to use 6 cups. You can make 4 cups or 2 cups. My Beauty Waters land right in between a green smoothie and a juice. We’re going to keep the fiber from the greens and today we’re using mint. How much mint I know you’re going to ask. How about a small handful, a couple of sprigs, or however much mint you want. It’s a concept, not an absolute recipe. Add the mint to the water. Then I have a half of a lemon. We all have a different flavor tolerance for lemon, so you can add more or less if you like, but I want this thing to really sing with zing, so I’m using a half of a lemon. Make sure that you remove the peel. You can leave the white pith on. Check it carefully, make sure there are no seeds in there. And then add it to the VitaMix.

What other sweetener has fiber in it?

I want a little bit of sweetener in mine. I know some of you can use raw honey, some of you use agave, I like to sweeten with dates. I have 2 Medjool dates here that I removed the little caps and the pits from; you can add those. I just want a hint of sweetness. I don’t want this to be sweet, I want it to be refreshing.

And because I can’t resist, and I’ve got this ginger root, I took off a little nib of ginger, you don’t need much. I’m not going to bother to peel it, it’s organic and I washed it well. Just add a little bit. You don’t have to add the ginger, but I love the aroma, I love the effects, I love just a little bit of the ginger flavor because it’s strong and I don’t want it to overwhelm everything. So, look at the blender, doesn’t it look beautiful? This is what we’re going to blend up.

Snowy White Inside

You don’t have to juice if you don’t want to. I love juicing, I do it. You don’t have to have a thick green smoothie all the time. I love green smoothies, as you know, but sometimes I want a change. I want a beverage that’s thin like water. And this you can sip on all day long. Such a beautiful color. I never tire of the beautiful and many shades of green that I have discovered since beginning to drink my greens 6 years ago. Ah.. so refreshing.

The lemon’s right there, dash of the sweetness, just takes the edge off the lemon. And that was the perfect amount of mint. It’s there but it’s not overwhelming. Mint is anti-viral, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and it keeps your breath fresh from the inside out, which is what we want. We want to be snowy white inside. Get your greens… Ah, delicious.

If you want it a touch sweeter, you can throw in a little bit of honey or perhaps another date. Make this and let me know what you think. I would love to know. So I got these 2 glasses out of it and this jug. All this will go in the regrigerator and I’ll have it all day to sip on. Or you can put it in a thermos and take it to work with you.

I hope you enjoyed this Minty Lemon Beauty Water. Thanks again, Janis. Please hit the LIKE button. This way we give the video some Google love and we get to spread the green goodness all around. I would really appreicate that. Thank you.

Wow Jane, I just tried your recipe to the lemon mint combo and I love it. I would have never thought to put that hint of ginger in it. Great idea.

Check this out, I found a great way to make one to two cups of beauty water at a time. Sometimes when I make a nice thick yummy green smoothie, there is all the smoothie clinging to the side. I usually get a spatula and get out what I can. So, short of trying to slurp straight from the blender to get every last bit, I will just go ahead and rinse my blender. Well, the other day as I was rinsing, I thought what a waste and when I poured out the water it looked like a beautiful shade of green beauty water. Just then I realized, this is beauty water. So, the next day instead of rinsing my blender, I added two cups of water and squeezed some lemon. Wala, yummy beautiful beauty water. I love the fact that I did not waste one drop of my smoothie. After all, it had cilantro in it, which I think God put cilantro on this earth just for me.

Anyway, thanks again for your wonderful site. I’m going to get another glass of my enhanced lemon mint beauty water. Cheers!

Love this, but mine always has lots of foam. How do I prevent that?

    • Jane says:

      Hi Kim,
If your blends get foamy, try running the blender on low for about 10 seconds and/or let it set for about 10 minutes and this also helps to reduce foam.
