I had my yearly wellness check and had lab work done as well. I am happy to say that my Triglyceride # dropped 55 points! I still have 50 more to drop before hitting normal, but I have no doubt that it will as I continue to drink my greens daily. All my numbers for cholesterol moved in the right direction. My GFR also changed from 55 to 60! 60 is normal. I totally believe it is from cutting out animal products and eating a plant based diet. My husband was so impressed that he is now wanting to eat a more plant based diet too. I am glad because there are so many new recipes to test. My favorite cookbook right now is The Vegan Table by colleen Patrick-Goudreau. For lunch today I made a mock tuna salad using chickpeas. Put it on toasted whole grain bread and added cantalope on the side. Very delicious. My hubby really enjoyed it and asked me to make him lunches to go from now on. I am glad to do it! He needs his GFR numbers to go up too. Will be interesting what his lab work reveals in a few months! Oh I forgot to mention that I made a triple berry, pomegranite, banana and kale smoothie for us as well. Yum!

    Hi Dora,

This is fabulous news – to hear how drinking your greens and adding more plant foods is proven in your numbers!

Am I correct that the GFR is how your kidneys filter the impurities from your blood stream?

Thank you for blogging about this. Your story and the stories of all of the members are REAL. And that’s what’s so inspiring.

Especially when the guys come on board :)

Keep the reports coming. I love to read them. Inspiration goes both ways :)

    *to your clinking good health*

Congrats to you for your good health. The mock tuna recipe sounds interesting. Can you pass it my way? I am always looking for high protein no soy veggie recipes.
