Joe & Suzi’s First Green Smoothie
Joe & Suzi’s First VitaMix Green Smoothie is a cooling collard greens concoction. You have to try it.
Many thanks to Joe from Ohio for sending in this recipe, which I enjoyed making and sipping. It is a beautiful shade of green with purple flecks. It sounds delicious. Joe wrote in and said,
Hello Jane!
I just received my Vita-Mix in the mail and made my first smoothie. I wanted to thank you for all your time and effort you put into your website and all the great recipes. I found you while searching on youtube for Green Smoothie recipes. I just turned 40 and have always been focused on health and used to body build in my 20′s and 30′s, but the past 8 years I have stopped. Still work out, but not like i used to. This is why i’m looking more into nutrition and the long term effects green smoothies have on the human body. My wife and I already juice daily with a Brevile JE800XL and it makes great juice but I have always wanted a Vita-Mix. Now we have one.
My first smoothie for lunch today was 1 frozen banana, 1/2 cup fresh blueberries, 1 cup of green grapes and 4 collard green leaves (no stem), 4 oz of coconut water and some ice. All the videos I watch that you post I always hear how good they are, but now i can testify… THEY ARE! It is soooo good.
Again thank you for your hard work and all the great recipes on your site.
All the best, and God Bless.
Joe in Ohio.
So I just have to make this for you today. Here’s the link where I show you how to safely, swiftly and easily open a mature brown coconut, harvest the water from it and enjoy the meat inside. It’s not difficult at all, you’ll see how easy it is.
Joe’s recipe made two beautiful parfait glasses full of the collard greens smoothie. If you look closely you’ll see there’s the little bits of the purple from the blueberries in there. It’s a very beautiful smoothie, too. Now let’s taste it. Well, coconut water, blueberries, grapes, banana, you cannot beat this combination. The collard greens just gets absorbed by all the fruit. Mmm… …this is a delicious and beautiful smoothie.
Joe, that’s a great smoothie for your first one. It’s very successful. I made a lot of stinkers when I first got started, the compost ate really well for awhile. If Joe and Suzi can do it, you can do it, too.
Get to blending, start up with some combinations of fruits and greens and begin to drink your greens and you’ll begin to experience the benefits. So I hope Joe, that you and Suzi will keep in touch with me and let me know how your greens drinking goes. I would love to know what your green smoothie journey and experience is like so that I can share it with all the viewers.
Thanks for sending in this terrific blend.

[..YouTube..] Think I’ll try this one to switch up the greens… collard greens are usually bitter raw so that fruit combo must be a good one to go with it based off of your expression
[..YouTube..] @Runnergal Try it, it’s really good! I am so grateful for all the viewer submitted smoothies, they are original and good and I get a lot of variety this way. Let me know what you think of it.Jane
