  3. [..YouTube..] @rui27marne Sometimes. When I am feeling sugar sensitive, I make savory green smoothies with low glycemic tomatoes, cucumbers, avo’s, etc.

Another alternative to green tea can be hawthorn tea as this is also so good and makes the smoothie de- lis- ious.Yes the dates can be omitted but they are full of fibre so that is why I use them. The wheat grass can be increased to 2 cubes if you like ( I grow and juice my own so I always have some ) as this will give you a real boost. Blessings to you all. Jan

      Hi Jan,
You are full of new ideas.
I have never heard of hawthorn tea so that is next on my list to look into. My list is getting ever longer thanks to you and the many fine viewers who submit green smoothie recipes.
I really enjoyed this blend and I liked using the green tea which I plan to incorporate more often.
I get so much email from folks who are sugar sensitive that I try to give them alternatives, which is why I mentioned that they could try your wonderful blend without dates,
Many thanks and here’s to you having a great day in Scotland.
      Jane

This looks good, wonder if I could use my original flavoured Amazing Grass?

    • Jane says:

      Hi Angie,
I don’t see why not. Isn’t that the best part about green smoothie blends, that we can use them as a springboard and personalize them?
Let me and Jan know how it tastes with the Amazing grass.
      Jane

Hi Everybody, Yes I think any grass is wonderful and health giving. Wheat and barley grass or any other kind as it is the chlorophyl that is important and feeds the blood and helps in so many other ways. You can add as much as your taste buds can cope with. I realise that it is not to everyones taste but hidden in a smoothie you do not taste it but know it is there… liquid sunshine.

Hawthorn tea can be bought or made with dried hawthorn leaves (the berries are good but take a lot of prep to get the flesh from the seed.) We all know the hawthorn (or May bush) and it can be a source of health giving benefits. Have you ever eaten the leaves and called it “bread and cheese” as a child ? Great!
Scotland is a cold, wet and windy place but soooooo beautiful ! I just love my life here.

  13. [..YouTube..] Vitamix certainly does make some quality blenders. What you are making with it looks especially good!

  14. [..YouTube..] @RestaurantEquipment Thanks! Try out some of the recipes and come back and let me know what you think.Jane

  15. [..YouTube..] @blenditandMendit Good advice! I usually go for Honey & Mint tea, with some strawberries or other lighter fruit mixed in, but I’ll have to give your recipe a try. Thanks!
