HI Jane! I tried the spinach ice cream with my kids, but I made a boo boo..After I made it in my (not Vitamix),comparable blender..It was perfect..but I added too much ripe bananas..so I decided to try to add more spinach, And a frozen piece of pineapple..the problem is, it made it the constistency od a smoothie
..So I had to freeze it all night..Kids said they liked it..
Question? How do we keep some of these kales, and other veggies in fridge? Bags on/off?
Also..I love Jicama..have you ever tried it in any recipes, or is it more of a starchy veggie? Its yummu in Albacore Tuna..just wondering!
Hi Wendy,
Glad the kids liked it!
Read Bimi Blast Day 2 for storing tips:
http://blenditandmendit.com/the-protocols/30-day-support-protocol/bimi-blasts/day-2-bimi-blast/
I don’t use jicama in smoothies but I do in salads and for crudites. I like its crunchy sweetness.

By the way, do you live in USA?
I’m from Sydney and I’m Chinese Indonesian married with Aussie bloke
Thanks for reading my comment!!
Hi Nanik,
Thank you for your kind words and support. I appreciate it.
While waiting for your VitaMix, you can use a regular blender if you adjust for less quantity, more liquid and smaller portion – just throw a leaf of fresh greens in with some fruit and blend it up.
I am in the USA and am honored you are viewing my videos in Sydney, Australia.
Have a great, greening day
Jane

Hi, I am tring to make a raw barley water, but only can find the boiled way to making barley water. Any chance you can help me please?
I read this and am interested in having barley water all the time:
Barley water was believed by ancient civilizations to be a good remedy to fair up skin complexions and prevent the signs of aging such as wrinkles.
Barley also provides a lot of nutrition for the body as well as treating cough and pharyngitis or the inflammation of the throat.
Because of the healthy components of barley, it has proved to resolve gastric inflammations expelling toxins that harm the body.
Since barley water surely quenches anyone’s thirst, it also provides good treatment for kidney problems. It is also a treatment administered to the sick to help bring back appetite.
According to one scholar, regularly drinking two-thirds of barley and water solution can be an antidote to the many possible diseases the body can have.
Barley water was also found out helpful in preventing infection in the urinary tract during pregnancy.
Thanks, Roxanne
Hi Roxanne,
Making barley water, raw or cooked, is something I haven’t done so have no experience with it to share….
raw food…heals everything
Hello Jane, I am new to this, but I am loving it. I have always been concerned with what I eat and my health and this has opened new doors for me to a healthier lifestyle. I have just recently purchased the Vitamix New Creations and I love the way it blends smoothies. I bought some fresh organic Chard yesterday and I was wondering if I could get some good Chard recipes from you. Thanks.
Hi Angie,
Sure thing, here’s three to get you started:

It was so nice to see your videos.
I started this year to eat healthy , to lower my colesterol. I cant take the medications for it. I will be going to a Chinese Medicine doctor soon
my goal is to stop most of the meds I take ex: blood pressure.
I was talking to your cousin Joe Ferris today We have been friends for over 20 years, We play guitar together here in So Fla. I was telling hime how I cut my colesterol in half by the way I am eating now and told me about your web site
I am so happy to see them now. Thank so much Terry

Welcome! And say hi to Joe, too!

Congratulations! Thank you for your kind words and support. I appreciate it.
Hi I was lucky enough to hear Victoria Boutenko speak last week in Auckland NZ which has inspired me to purchase my new blender. I have severe arthritis and have just watched your arthritis reversal video but can’t seem to find the info on your website about the recipe and reasons for the ingredients. Are you able to send me the link? Looking forward to trying out all your yummy recipes.
Hi Sue,
Here’s the link for the recipe and info:

I am in the middle of re-organizing my website to make content easier to find and I appreciate your patience.
Let me know what you think of this smoothie. Hope your blender brings you much wellbeing.
I found your website shortly after buying my Vitamix and I love it and your recipes. Thank you so much from a southern gal who use to cook her greens!
Mary from Georgia
Hi Mary,
You’re welcome!
Glad you are here – raw or cooked, greens are great
Hi, Jane
I left you a comment on the Mango Ice cream regarding to the taste of the healthy food and thank you for your reply. Well, first i really like your videos. I am doing a lot of research about the healthy smoothie and ice cream because i have a store coming up in May and we decide to carry some of these products. The thing is that we all want to be healthy, but i tried many healthy smoothies and they don’t taste as good as those regular smoothie or ice cream out there. I have not tried your receipt yet because i don’t have a Vitamix but i just bought one and cant wait to try all your receipts. Your ice cream and smoothies looks so good and I will definitely go try it and let you know my experiment. thanks again
Hi Xin,
You’re welcome! Let me know how your ice cream experiments turn out. If you can make and sweeten them with fresh ingredients they will be a hit. Make almond milk ice cubes, they are a great base for ice cream.
I love your videos! It’s great to get so many ideas, cos I absolutely LOVE smoothies!
Just wondering if you’ve ever tried this one: coconut water with frozen blueberries – I just made it the other day by accident, and loved it!
Thanks for sharing all of your wonderful ideas – I can’t actually pinpoint a favorite yet (maybe the caramel shake?), but I just love the variety of ideas you come up with and I still have a lot yet to try! I especially love seeing your reaction when you try your concoctions! Thanks again!!
Hi Leon,
Coconut water and frozen blueberries sounds great and I haven’t come up with that one yet. I am adding it to the list to make on camera. And then why not coco water and frozen cherries, mango, peaches, the combinations are endless. I have found, like you, that some of my best blends happen by accident. And thank you for your kind words and support. I appreciate it.
Hi Jane,
I finally made the decision to purchase a Vitamix. I had been making green smoothies in my food processor; which took forever and was like drinking a chopped salad. While I was waiting for delivery I stumbled upon your site as I was looking for recipes and demos. Thanks to you I was ready with a whole arsenal of ideas, and I am getting the most out of my Vitamix. You are infectious and motivating…glad I found you!
Hi Debbie,
Thank you so much, that is quite a compliment and I appreciate it.
I wish you as much fun and wellbeing from your VitaMix as I get from mine.
Keep me posted.

Hi Sharon,
Happy birthday! I wish you as much fun and wellbeing from your VitaMix as I get from mine.
Thank you for your positive comments. I appreciate it.
Jane, your site is amazing. I found it when sitting down for a quiet moment after a very hard week at work, deciding I would begin (again) trying to take better care of my body. I’ve read and learned quite a bit from you site – especially about mixing the greens in my smoothies. I’ve used the same type of greens (spinach) every day! I signed up so keep the info coming!!! Thanks for all you do to keep us informed! Tish
Hi Tish,
Thank you for your kind words and support. I appreciate it.
It’s good to hear from you and welcome to Blend It and Mend It!
Hi Jane!
Just found your website and love it! My husband and I just moved to Ecuador so we have a very large choice of wonderful fruits here. The greens are harder to find. We are still looking for fresh, locally grown.
We made coconut milk this morning. You don’t mention anything about making coconut flour. We are going to try that and almond flour too. Have you used your vitamix to make shredded coconut?
Thank so much/Linda
Hi Linda,
Welcome to Blend It and Mend It!
I haven’t made coconut flour or shredded coconut in the VitaMix. So far I’ve made vids on coconut butter:
http://youtu.be/iDMpHpzvugI
and how to open young and mature coconuts:
http://blenditandmendit.com/how-to-videos/
You’ve given me two good topics, though, thanks.
Happy greens hunting in Ecuador to you and your husband.
Tq I like ice cream GODBLESS YOU
Thank you!
