Elizabeth’s Apple A Day Peach Smoothie
Welcome. Today I am making Elizabeth’s blend that she sent in. Look at this creamy, peachy creation.
Elizabeth wrote and said, “Hi Jane, I made a new smoothie today that I just fell in love with and thought I’d share it with you. I call it my Apple A Day Peach Smoothie.”
Ripe Fruit
2 cups of almond milk; and if you don’t know how to make your own almond milk, I’ll show you how – it’s simple and easy and once you make your own homemade almond milk, you’ll be hard pressed to buy anything that’s been processed.
2 handfuls of grapes; she added frozen grapes, you can add fresh or frozen. I had fresh today so I added those. 2 fresh peaches, remove the pits and make sure your peaches are ripe. You want them to smell like a peach, you want them to taste like a peach. Don’t get hard, out of season peaches. Make this when you can get some good fruit. That’s the key to a good smoothie, ripe fruit.
Chia
One apple, quartered, and Elizabeth left the seeds in. You don’t have to, but you can. A cup of ice and she says, “I added some chia seeds just because.” When using chia seeds, make sure you soak them first and you’ll end up with a chia gel. Chia seeds will draw water out of you and you don’t want that to happen or you’ll end up dehydrated or thirsty, so always soak your chia seeds. 9 parts water, one part chia.
Let Me Know
And then Elizabeth says, “Let me know if you like it.” With ingredients like that I don’t see how I can’t like it, but let’s give it a try. Peachy, peachy… I can taste the peach, the ripe peach is the key. Actually, I think I can taste the apple, too. It’s creamy from the almond milk. And it’s sweet, but not too sweet.
This is fabulous, Elizabeth, thank you.
And thank you all for watching my videos. I really appreciate the support I get from all of you. Could you hit the thumbs up if you like this video? It helps to spread the whole food goodness all around. Thank you.
