DAY 28 Are You Kidding me?!
I was reared in an all-girl boarding school run by nuns in an era when it was unladylike to climb trees or be athletic beyond golf and bridge. I like to walk for exercise, but not fast, and not far. So, even though it actually seemed like my idea when I walked in on my own with the intension of joining, I was surprised when I actually signed the check. What is going on here?!
I’ve just overcome my intolerance for perspiring, and have made friends with the six month sticky summer season, and now I am a gym member? Ewwwwwww. Or I guess…Ohhhhhhhh! or What the heck?!
There’s something in the green water! Be careful what you put into your smoothies!The greens will play with you. Things that you thought were you for sure, just might not be any more, and what you never thought you would do, becomes your very next activity. Now I’m pumping iron? I can’t wait to see what happens next! I think.

Last week I decided to do a mere 15-20 mins a day on the treadmill for one week. Seven lousy day! I managed two days. A total of 37 mins. And the second day was only because someone else remembered and reminded me. Rebecca you are now committed – the cheque has been signed and now you HAVE to go. I’ll just sit here and get blubbier while you get trim, taut and terrific-er.

Now I am painfully aware of body parts I never knew I had!
Ouch!
What I love about our mentor, Jane, is that she is ever reminding us to *drink our greens and watch what happens;
*to do things the best we can and let the concept of ‘perfection’ vacation on an island far away;
*to take our time,do it in any order we like, but don’t quit.
So I will fuel up on the darkest greens we have, and drag my sorry sore glutes to the gym again today. I saw a book title today: “What Is In The Way, IS The Way”…that would be fear of both success and failure in my case, so I am treating fear like I would any three-year-old, and kindly giving it something to do till it’s mood passes!
Call the abulance!

Go girl go …you can do it! Exercise is a weird one…when you’re in it it’s sooo good but if you’re out of it it’s sooo hard to get back in it?! Does that make sense? Going through a lazy phase at the moment I envy you your motivation and know your body will thank you?!

Hey Rebecca, what’s the news on the gym? Are your muscles complaining less? Only two more weeks before the supposed habit steps in and impels you to exercise, rather than your conscience propelling you. (Or so I’ve been told) I still haven’t done even one bout on the treadmill, so I sincerely hope you are powering on there! I obviously need to be shamed into it – nothing else seems to work. Goodonya.

I think if you when I’m on the exercycle. Someone decidedly younger than I am asked if I would be interested in the cycling class…I didn’t have the heart (or the lungs) to tell her that I am not yet out of the “cool down” setting for the ‘blank’ machine!
My doctor said lower weights/more reps, but they don’t have any 1/2 pound weights at our gym!
I’m doin’…I’m doin’!
Talk about baby steps. Some steps are better than no steps. That’s my motto.

Ah Rebecca good morning from down under,
I realise I’ve gone a bit quiet this last week…just taking a bit of a rest from the computor..hanging around the tipi, clearing out the garage, trying to work how to start selling jewellery, school holidays cooking with Bella and yes ….THINKING about joining the gym again. You inspire me to remember small steps are better then no steps…maybe today i’ll finally do it
