Dandelion Orange Green Smoothie
Hi, I’m Jane from blenditandmendit.com. Welcome. Today, I am making a dandelion green smoothie.
Royal Weed
If you’re drinking your greens on a regular basis, you are going to run into dandelion, which I call the royal weed. It’s free for the picking if you’re in a clean field and you know what you’re doing and make sure you do, because some weeds are posionous. But if you know how to identify dandelion and pick it, it’s a terrific, nutrient dense green that you really ought to rotate into your green smoothie repertoire.
Keep It Simple, Smoothie
Keeping with my ‘keep it simple, smoothie’ philosophy, I’m using two ingredients; the dandelion and 3 oranges. Just peel them, make sure there’s no seeds in them and put them in your VitaMix.
Check out my playlist of dandelion green smoothies, so that you get ideas for other blends using dandelion.
Start out with one leaf of dandelion if that’s all your taste buds can tolerate to get started. Even if that’s all you ever add into a green smoothie, that’s okay, just get a wide variety of greens. Think 7 different greens in 7 days. That will give you something to shoot for.
Citrus Overtones
I can smell the oranges in this, it smells wonderful. What a great way to get dandelion. This is so fresh, and the dandelion flavor is there, but it’s not there as much as the orange. It has citrus overtones to it.
Why do I keep drinking my greens? Because they make me feel so good.
You mix them with fresh water filled fruit… organic if you can. Try to use organic greens and organic fruit. If you can’t, it’s okay, don’t worry about it, just get started, you’ll work your way toward organic as you go. We can’t all get all organic all the time. I can’t do it, nobody can. It’s something to shoot for. Don’t stress over it. Get your greens the best way you can.
I appreciate it if you would hit the lIKE button for this video so we can send the green goodness all around. Thank you so much for watching my videos. I really appreciate your support. I enjoy your comments, keep them coming.

I love dandelion and orange smoothies. This has been one of my favorites since I’ve started having green smoothies daily since June. Another fav or mine is orange with spinach which I think tastes kind of like a creamsicle.
Thanks for helping dandelion along. So many don’t give it a chance because of it’s strong flavor, but I have grown to enjoy the bitterness. Sometimes it’s like unsweetened chocolate.
One other great thing about the dandelions is they are so inexpensive for such a huge amount.
