What happens when you look in your refrigerator and you have a tomato that’s got to be used up today? You have a cucumber that’s getting kind of old and it’s gotta be eaten today. All you have to do with the stuff you don’t want to waste… you paid good money for it… and you want to use it.. it’s full of nutrition… it’s full of water, is throw it in your blender and look what you come up with.

Savor The Flavor

This is a delicious savory green smoothie. All I did was take a cucumber; this one happens to be a long, English cucumber like they have at Costco. You can use a couple of cucumbers or if you have one cucumber just throw in the blender what you have. This is more of a concept than an absolute recipe. You don’t need recipes when you’re blending. You will get used to what works together for you and what doesn’t.

So you’ve got the cucumber, the tomato, a squeeze of lemon… you know how you’ve got a half of a lemon in the fridge that you use for something and there’s hardly anything left in it, you can squeeze what’s left into your blender and add a little bit of tang to your blend. I just added a pinch or two of Himalayan pink sea salt to my blend. You don’t have to do it, it doesn’t need it, but sometimes it just brings those flavors together.

Really Good

It’s light, it’s refreshing. This is a savory green smoothie. Even though cucumbers and tomatoes are fruit, they’re not sweet fruit, so you don’t have to worry, it’s low on the Glycemic Index scale and full of naturally purified and structured water. It’s thirst quenching. You feel so hydrated when you’re drinking your greens, at least I do. From all the mail I get, I know that you do, too. This is simple. When you look in your fridge and you have all these bits and pieces you don’t have to throw them out. Put them into your blender and make a whole food drink out of them. Really good. Really good.

Hi Jane, Thank you for this savory one. I’m hoping to have lots of summer tomatoes and cukes soon and when the heat finally gets turned up in Ohio, this one will be so refreshing. I’m really going to enjoy this summer after finding this site and my blender. Thanks, Anna
