Name: Jane

College: Self-taught

Degree: I have no degrees except my MwC (Married with Children)

Favorite Color: Green

Favorite Type of Movie: Rom-coms and Docs

Personal Protection

I found it deeply satisfying and freeing when I overcame my distaste of unadulterated, undressed, un-oiled, un-sauced, un-cooked, un-salted, undisguised greens. Fresh greens are one of our most potent personal protectors. I have observed others as they overcame this same resistance. It is powerful.

This is what my efforts here are about.  It is an imperfect world and we are all imperfect in it, but when I am drinking my greens, I feel perfect. Green smoothies fill me with positivity and cheer.

Inner Strength

How’s your inner strength? Do you have any? Without it you won’t get what you want.

Keeping ourselves healthy and strong is our responsibility and once we accept that, it goes a long way toward helping us develop our inner strength.

Inner strength is not sufficiently recognized and developed within us as it should be. To be able to call it up and carry it within us deepens our self knowledge and feeds our capabilities.

It is also virtually impossible to be a lonely person when we exercise our inner strength on a regular basis. It will be there when we need it, better than money in the bank. When I truly understood the value of developing my inner strength, it sustained me through abandonment and failure. Building inner strength is not for sissies.

Staying Alive

I have been practicing yoga, in its many forms and disciplines from Hatha to Bikram, for 30 years. I now practice intuitive yoga, a system I created for myself which goes like this: I ease in and out of poses when I feel like it. My husband and I bike ride along various trails sprinkled throughout the Sonoran desert and I’m a walker, too. Throw in a few free weights now and then and I’m good.

MwC

I have been drinking, creating, writing about, teaching and enjoying the benefits of green smoothies since 2006. My Vita-Mix is my #1 anti-aging tool and I use it every day, blending and mending away. I don’t mind getting old and I don’t mind looking old, but I don’t want to feel old. When I’m drinking my elixirs, I feel 18 again.

I have no degrees except my MwC. I earned my M (married) in 1980 and completed my wC (with children) in 1988. I reside in Tucson, AZ with my husband of 33 years, drink green smoothies, have fun with family and friends and maintain 3 compost bins and a vermicomposting/worm farm. Life is good.

  1. hi jane! i am such a big fan of yours. a few months ago i started a facebook page for vitamix users called “vitamix recipes and community forum”. i did this because i saw that vitamix corp had a facebook page that they USED to maintain, but no longer, and people still kept posting into it asking questions. so i just took on the job of answering people’s questions, first on the vitamix corp page (which was hard & unweildy, because the public can only comment on an existing post, so the old posts just fill up with REALLY long comment sections… yikes), then i started my own page. i now have 1200 followers, and a nicely active core base, mostly newbies. i answer all of their questions, either from my own personal experience or i research it for them.

i wanted to invite a few select folks, more expert than i, to come and help me admin this page, or to see if you just want to share posts from your own page onto my page as a member. just to keep the content lively for my little group. i often post your youtube videos, but i think it would be more fun coming from you.

i personally have a natural foods bent, i am vegan and am a believer in a high raw diet for cultivating amazing health and well being. on my vitamix page however, if someone asks me for ANY kind of recipe or advice, i answer. (i might also give a healthy version, or a vegetarian version, etc.) if i think about it, i guess my ultimate goal is to turn people on to a whole natural foods lifestyle, by setting a good example and sharing what i have learned but in a hopefully very accessible and non-preachy way to a diverse audience.

let me know if you are interested!
either way, thanks for sharing all the great content you do, on your blog and especially on your great youtube videos! love it!

    aloha from maui,

Hi Jane,am new to the “green thing”. Am 62 years old and just bought a new Vitamix. My question is, how often should I have smoothies and should I eat “normal meals” as well. Do they replace a meal?
    Thanks

    • Jane says:

      Hi Vale,

Congrats on your VitaMix and I hope you get as much fun and well being from yours as I get from mine.
I’m not a doctor so this is my opinion only: to get started sip your green smoothies in the morning and then have a regular lunch and dinner. Sip as much as you want until 30 minutes before lunch.
It’s different for everyone, so listen to your body and do what’s right for you, but I have found this is a reasonable way to get started.
Definitely download my K.I.S.S and 7 Day Support Protocol Guides, too, to learn more.

Hi Jane,I also have just bought a new Vitamix. I live in England. Do you know how I can bulk buy frozen organic fruits like you do from your Costco. They don’t sell these products in my local Costco, and despite trawling the internet, I can’t find a supplier. Perhaps someone who is in this country would know. Small 300g packets from the health food shops are VERY expensive!
So happy to have discovered your website when looking for “how to” recipes on YouTube. Thank you. Cheers. Linda

    • Jane says:

      Hi Linda,

Congrats on your VitaMix! I hope you get as much fun and well being from your VitaMix as I get from mine.

Until you find a source for bulk frozen fruit, I would buy fresh in bulk in season and freeze extra for later use. This will probably take the same amount of time and effort but you’ll end up meeting the produce managers of your local stores and markets, visiting local farms and meeting the farmers and all around having a good time finding fresh fruits that you can use that day and freeze the rest.

Another solution is to go savory with your green smoothies and rely more on cucumbers, tomatoes, avocados, etc as your smoothie ‘fruits’. These can be very delicious and are low glycemic and fewer calories to boot.

There are many greens drinking folks here on BIMI that are in the UK so they may be able to get more specific with their info. Welcome to Blend It and Mend It!

  4. Christine says:

Quick question: where do I get the nut/juice bags with the wide opening that fits over your 8 cup measuring cup/bowl? I ordered a nut milk bag but the opening won’t even fit over my 4 cup measuring cup. HELP! (and thank you ever so much for all our wonderful work!)

    • Jane says:

Good question. I had 3 of them given to me as a gift 6 years ago. The last one finally wore out and I cut it up to use over my sprouting jars.

Now I can’t find them! I had to order the narrow mouth bags and those are the ones I carry in SHOP BIMI.

I am actively looking for them and as soon as I find them (I hope they are still made) I will add them to SHOP BIMI.

I am in the same nut milk bag boat that you are.

      • Anna says:

I’m not sure if this is the same thing but. My whole foods store sells reusable produce bags with a drawstring that fit nicely over a wide bowl and strain pulp

      • Christine says:

Jane, could you do me a favor? Could you measure the opening of the bag that works on that big measuring bowl? With that, I’m going to do some deep research and see if I can’t find a big-mouthed bag for all of us.
        Thanks,
        Christine

        • Jane says:

          Hi Christine,

I would if I could but I cut it up to use over sprouting jars before I realized they were so hard to find.

I wrote to the place where they were originally purchased by my friend but haven’t heard back yet and I found a seller in England that will make what I want but before I go to all that trouble I am going to check out the produce bags from WF that Anna suggested above.

        • Jane says:

          Hi Christine,

The produce bags from WF are the right size but the wrong weave (mesh too big and stretchy).

Here are the measurements that will work with 4QT measures/bowls that I am looking for in traditional sprout/nut milk bag nylon mesh: 12 3/4″ wide x 12″ long.

Let me know if you find any – many thanks!
          Jane

  5. Wendy says:

Hi Jane, I am learning so much from your videos, and recipes, from you, and all the others who submitt their ideas. I wanted to first tell you I expermitted with frozen pineapple core. I found that when I would blend it from frozen state, that it didn’t blend up well, even in a high powered blender..So I cut up a new one recently, and decided to puree it while fresh..with a little coconut water to get a nice smooth consistency, and then froze it.(You can even use water if don’t have). I didn’t get to save the rest of fresh pineapple, as my 5 kids gobbled it up as I cut it open..leaving me the core..and I went into frezer, banged bag to get a couple of chunks and put in my smoothie. It was a nice mello taste, and blended well..no hard frozen chunks of pineapple core! I think you should try this if you haven’t, as It could also be like a pureed sorbet, and add some coconut flakes as well..YUM!

I do have a curios question or two..First, I had made almond milk and tried a smoothie with it, and within a few min. I had to stop, as I felt like my insides was constricted, and shortness of breath..could that be to an allergic reaction to the almonds? I used a tbs of ground Flax too with a bannan, and 2 cups spinach and 1.5 cups of almond milk. It was my first almond milk, and I was sad that I had to throw it away..I couln’t drink anymore..not for lack of taste, it was yummy..

Also, Jane, what were some of the smoothies you made that you just couldn’t stomach..It be interesting to know your findings..
Thank you so Much for all your hard work!
    Wendy

    • Jane says:

      Hi Wendy,

I’m not a doctor, but definitely don’t consume almonds or almond milk if you react negatively to them.

Smoothies that I have had to compost are usually from mixing too many ingredients together. I have great success when I stick to fruit and greens in my green smoothies, in the traditional 60% fruit, 40% greens.

For the most part, I leave the other smoothie additions including fats and nut milks, to non-green smoothies.

Also my Beauty Waters make me very happy -they are simple and more of a beverage than a thick smoothie: http://blenditandmendit.com/category/bimi-beauty-water/

I don’t like mustard greens, so don’t use them. I don’t feel good when I have tried them, so I accept that they are not a part of my green smoothie rotation and I am fine with it.

My advice is to simplify your blends to fruit, greens, water and/or ice until you get a handle on what works for you. Definitely rotate your greens 7 days/7 greens if you can.

Remember to Keep It Simple, Smoothie :)

With much love to you and happy greening,
      Jane

I have watched your videos and want to get started. You are very inspirational! I live in UK by the way.I have googled Vitamix and there seem to be different ones.Which one are you using currently?

  7. Carol Desjarlais says:

Jane I want to start the 21 days avo smoothie but I was wondering if you just sip on that all day or just have it as a breakfast dring.
    Thanks

    • Jane says:

      Hi Carol,

Have it for breakfast then have your normal lunch and dinner. It should hold you until lunch. Please let me know what you think of these blends and how you feel on them as you go through the plan.
      Thanks!

  8. Michele says:

Hi Jane. I just got my Vitamix a few weeks ago and watched quite a few of your videos before it arrived and since. Tonight I even bought my first fresh coconut after watching your video last night. It was as easy as you made it look. I really enjoy your videos. I can’t wait for the warm weather to get here so that I can try ice cream. One thing that I have the Vitamix to thank for is now I like greens. I had never tried swiss chard or Kale before my Vitamix. And I always said I hated spinach because I had only had it as a cooked pile of mush. After liking it in a smoothie, I started mixing it with romaine in a salad and liked it that way too. Thanks for all the videos!

    • Jane says:

      Hi Michele,

You’re welcome! It’s great to hear about your progress. Thank you for taking the time to write as others can be inspired by your comments.
I hope you get as much fun and wellbeing from your VitaMix as I get from mine. :)
      Jane

  9. Michele says:

Hi Jane. Have you tried any black bean brownie recipes in the Vitamix? I made some today and the Vitamix pulverized the beans so well you can’t taste them at all. Since you like chocolate, if you haven’t tried them yet, I think you’d like them. http://www.food.com/recipe/black-bean-brownies-gluten-free-418692. Here’s a link to the recipe I used. I subbed eggbeaters and applesauce for the oil and dark chocolate chips. I bet with the cacao powder and nibs they would be even better.

  10. Michele says:

Anna, yes, I used the same measurement. I used slightly less chocolate chips because that’s what I had left and with cutting them into 16, the calorie breakdown is 1.6 fat, 14.8 carbs, 2.5 protein, 1.8 fiber, and 75 total calories. I also blended the beans with just the liquid ingredients first to make sure the beans were well blended before adding the dry ingredients. Let me know what you think if you try them out. I’m taking 2 for my coworkers today to see what they think.

  11. Anna says:

Hi Michelle — I have a boxed Trader Joe’s mix in my cupboard calling to me — I think it calls for adding in a little egg and oil or melted butter. I love the idea of adding in a little black beans and homemade applesauce from the blender into it instead of added fat. I am going to experiment. Anna

  12. Michele says:

You can substitute applesauce in an equal amount in any recipe that calls for oil. I’ve been doing it for years and it works great in baked goods.

  13. Farida says:

Hi Jane I’m new to green smoothies i found your website and inspiring videos.I now make green smoothies every morning for breakfast.I have a question. Are you 100% raw and how do you cope with craving for solid foods and if not how do you lay out your daily food routine?Thank you for your inspiration and you make it so simple and doable.

    • Jane says:

      Hi Farida,
Thank you for your kind words. I appreciate it.

Sometimes I’m 100% raw and sometimes I’m not. All the time I am an Everythingarian, which means I get my greens and don’t sweat the rest of it.
Being an Everythingarian is food freedom.
It’s the greens I’m concentrating on, not a specific way of eating. I love the waterful foods and eat them most of the time and days on end and feel great BUT no more food dogma / labels for me,
so rather than focus on being a raw foodist, I focus on getting my greens. Fresh, leafy greens have made all the difference and the rewards are internal, external, emotional and wonderful.

I don’t have a daily food routine. Every day is different and as I said, I get my greens and don’t sweat the rest of it. Green smoothies, green juices, my Beauty Waters:

      http://blenditandmendit.com/category/bimi-beauty-water/

salads, soups, dressings, etc. greens go with everything!

Thanks for commenting and have a great, greening day,
      Jane

  15. Carrie Shephard says:

    Hi Jane,

Yes it is me, Carrie ( Remember me? LoL) I Know, bad, bad, me for not writing lately but I have been super busy with everyday life like most of us!! It’s all good though. ( Except the 1 broken arm incident my daughter suffered last week and now has to wear a cast for 4 to 6 weeks :( ) She is such a trooper though, I think it hurt me more than her. She just carrys on with life!! She is who gives me inspiration to carry on with what we are doing with green smoothies and juicing. We make a jar of green juice every night to sip on when we get up in the morning to get ready for school. Then we each make a green smoothie. ( I like more greens in mine than she like- probably because I am older and bigger and can handle more :) ) When ever I find that all the cleaning of veggies and such gets to be overwhelming on busy days, Samantha is always there to encourage me and push me in the right direction. She’s so cute, she tells me to go sit after work and she will clean the veggies for the morning smoothies and the making of the night juice. What a great child I have!!! She waters my sunflower sprouts when I have seemed to have forgotten and she remembers to rinse the other sprouts that we always seemed to have on the go!

Jane, I asked this question to Sarah as well. Have you ever tryed making cultured vegetables and what is your view on them? I have just finished reading Kimberley Sniders book on ” The Beauty Detox Solution” and she is really keen on making sure you add this probiotic and enzyme mixture to your daily routine to aid in the fast digestion of your food as well as a good sweeper, as you would call it, of the colon. This is to help clean out all of the build up and garbage in your colon and intestines and leaving it in a more balanced state. I have made one batch of the formented cabbage in quart jars and it is really powerfull!! I actually have grown to like it and I definitely feel it working to break down the food in my stomach to digest faster. The fizzing and gurgling that takes place about 15 minutes to half an hour after eating 1/2 cup of cultured raw cabbage then eating my supper meal. I feel lighter later in the evening rather than bloated and full from the heavier dinner meal that I have just eaten. ( By heavier, I mean that it is not a green smoothie like breakfast and lunch, but a salad and maybe a cooked veggie and some cooked millet or quinoa or such!

My mind has never been so busy trying to learn more and more about the healing foods. I am constantly researching and trying new things. ( I think my husband thinks I have gone a little Koo Koo sometimes!!) I need at least another 4 hours in our 24 hour time clock!!

I love what I do though and I think this will always be my way of life now as I am in such a routine and I am afraid not to make my 2 daily green smoothies!!

Just thought I had better touch base and let you know that I am still around and viewing comments as often as I can!! I will do some more posting soon, as soon as I can catch my breath from the wirlwind of work these days.

    All my best, ;)

    Carrie

      Hi Carrie,
It’s great to hear from you. Remember, there is no pressure at Blend It and Mend It, so pop up when you want. I enjoy reading your greening stories, especially as they relate to how your daughter is joining in.

You sound wonderful and I can feel your energy – that is it’s own reward, methinks :)

  16. Farida says:

    Hi Jane
Can one use broccoli in the green smoothies?thank you.

    • Jane says:

      Hi Farida,

Some people do use broccoli in green smoothies and I have used small pieces of broccoli in green smoothies, but the taste is very strong and technically, broccoli is a vegetable and not a leafy green and so may cause digestive upset when mixed with fruit.

I prefer to make broccoli soups and such and not use broccoli in green smoothies. Here’s a broccoli cucumber bisque to try:

    Hi Jane,

I found you on YouTube, searching on how to make applesauce in the VitaMix. I find you quite enjoyable to watch. I would like to know if you have any recipes for weight gain as I am in desperate need. I’m not sick, just having a hard time gaining weight as I am new to cooking. My wife passed 6 months ago of breast cancer and I am now trying to take care for myself with a good diet.

Thanks and keep up the great work. God Bless.

    Hi Jane!

I just purchased a red vitamix for my daughter and her husband and their son Atticus who is 6 months old. I have ordered one for me also but had to wait on the shipment because I wanted a blue one, lol.

You are wonderful on your videos and you make the watcher feel like there is nothing that cannot be done with a little effort and a smile!

I am 56, need to lose weight especially since I have a new grandchild to chase after. I decided that now is the time to pull out the Pilates Performer, take some walks several times a week and start drinking my greens. I feel excited about making a change not as a diet to lose the weight, but a change choosing life and health.

I look forward to your videos and recipes. I am excited about making lots of wonderful smoothies with my homegrown strawberries, blueberries and raspberries from my garden for all my grandchildren and being an example that good for you can taste good too.

May you be blessed with wonderful things.

    • Jane says:

      Hi Debra,
Thank you so much for your kind words and support. I appreciate it.

      Congrats on your Vita-Mix’s!

I hope you get as much fun and wellbeing from yours as I get from mine.

      Keep me posted.

    Hello Jane.

I just wanted to pass on the recipe for a green smoothie that I just made. It was one of those “What can I make today with what I already have?” recipes and it tasted really good, even though I’m not a fan of spinach:

Blend together 1 banana, 2 nectarines, seeds of 3 cardamom pods, 1 large handful spinach, juice of half a lime, big splash of water (I didn’t measure it).

Thanks for all your wonderful recipes.

    Kind regards,

    Kathleen in the UK

    • Jane says:

      Hi Nigel,
Once in awhile somebody says they can’t get audio on my videos – I have tested it and it’s fine, but try this:
If you are wearing headphones, don’t use them and also unplug them from your computer and try again.
Make sure the volume on the actual video and on your computer is turned up and not muted.

In the meantime, here’s the link to the Beauty Waters:

Please let me know if the audio trouble shooting works or not.

    Hi Jane!
I enjoy your videos and I am always trying new things in my Vitamix. I had to share my latest Vitamix success! (A success in my house is when my 4 children all love something I have made !)
I have a friend with a fig tree that has given us permission to pick as many figs as we want! So I have started to pop them in the freezer so they don’t go bad. Tonight, I put about 3 frozen bananas, about a cup of frozen figs and some almond milk in the Vitamix and made a fig/banana milk shake for my kids. They LOVED it! They thought it was a wonderful desert…. just bananas, fresh figs and some almond milk! A desert that is truly good for them!
Thanks for all of your wonderful videos!

    • Jane says:

      Hi Denise,
You’re welcome! When the kids love it, you know it’s good. That is a new combo and I’m putting it on the list. Fresh figs are one of my favorites and to have a whole tree of them….

  22. Anne says:

    Dear Jane
I really enjoy your practical videos. I have had a vitamix for a while but really never got to grips with it. Having just spent 12 weeks in hospital with a ‘mystery illness’ after having a stroke last year I intend to make green smoothies etc a part of daily living. Had taken my nutrition seriously for a while and all my tests have come back as normal. Very arthritic and infection in my spinal cord. Any suggestions to feed my nervous system good things would be really good. I live in the UK.
Thank you for all you do.
    Anne

Jane,if you’re still looking for lg. nut milk bags I use Crate and Barrel vegetable bags. I bought them in a pack of 4 for approx.$12.00. They work great and are so reasonably priced. (They are a fine mesh bag.)I found it at the Kierland Sq. in Scottsdale C and B.

  28. Judy says:

    Jane,
I was wondering if I could use cabbage in a smoothie without causing any upset. It’s still in the kale family.

As far as the nut milk bag, I’ve used a painter’s bag from Home Depot. It doesn’t have the string but the price is right!

    • Jane says:

Cabbage, broccoli, etc are best consumed outside green smoothies. You may do fine with it, but it’s the leafy greens, not vegetables, that blend well with fruits. Unless you are making a savory green smoothie or a soup, then it’ll probably work.

Let me know what you came up with.

Your preparing of smooties amased me and I thing that I am going to be a great fan of it.I do not have VitaMix because it is very expenssive here but I have sam good and relativly strong and fast blender also. I am looking forward to your videos and recipes in future.

    • Jane says:

      Hi Jasminka,
Welcome to Blend It and Mend It! It’s great to have you here.
I started without a VitaMix, too, so you will be fine.
You may have to reduce quantities, add more liquid or eliminate ice to get your green smoothies to blend smooth, but you are on the right track, using what you have.
Keep me posted on your progress and thank you for your kind words and support. I appreciate it.

    Hello Jane,
I just joined after finding your website last night. I am a 60 year old 330 pound woman with quite a few health issues – high blood pressure, high cholesterol & triglycerides, and borderline diabetic. Is their anyone on this website who have improved their health numbers and lost quite a bit of weight?
I need all the support, inspiration and friends on my way to health.
    Thank you.
    Susan

    • Jane says:

      Hi Susan,

Welcome to Blend It and Mend It!
Soon, when I debut my new website, there will be an area for everyone to communicate and support one another.
Hang in there and in the meantime, congratulations on taking action and improving your health.
You’re not alone, we all need as much support and inspiration as we can get:)

I just found your site today and it has a lot of great ways to use the vitamix. I have had mine for almost two years and I love it. Where would I find the 30 day protocol that is being mentioned in the testemonials?

    • Jane says:

      Hi Maureen,
I have taken down all the protocols and ebooks as I am merging, rewriting and redesigning them into a better life tool for us.
It will be available soon. Thank you for your patience. In the meantime, please take advantage of the 250+ VitaMix recipes on my website – there are more on the way.
Thank you for your kind words and support. I appreciate it.
      Jane

      • Maureen Pluthero says:

        Hello Jane,
You mentioned in today’s video a 30 day protocol is this on your site somewhere?
        Regards
        Maureen

        • Jane says:

          Hi Maureen,
I had to take it down because I am combining it with my other books and redesigning them into one book. I apologize that the info in the vid is outdated. My apologies for the confusion. I’ll announce the new book when it’s ready. Thank you for using my website and inquiring. I appreciate your support.

  33. CARLOS MARTINEZ says:

Hi Jane, how are you? I just got my Vitamix a few days ago. I can’t live without it. I would like to know where I can buy the strainer you used to strain the almonds when you made almond milk. Please let me know because I need to get one. Keep up the good work.
    Thank you.
    Carlos

  34. Judy Moss says:

Hi Jane! I love your website. I first saw you on Youtube while searching for low glycemic sweeteners and treats that I could eat since I was recently diagnosed with hyperglycemia. I tried your almond milk recipe and researched more about phytic acid since you recommended soaking the almond to remove it. I then went right out and bought some organic raw cocoa powder. But what I found out after further research is that raw cocoa powders are one of the highest phytic acid offenders. So I researched the brand you are using on your videos. And I was surprised that the brand you use is not phytic acid free. I am confused as to why you soak your nuts to remove this enzyme yet do not use a phytic-free cocoa powder. Can you enlighten me? Am I being to overly cautious or is this an issue of concern? I really admire your work and trust your expertise. Can you enlighten me?

    • Jane says:

      Hi Judy,
Thank you for the kind words and support. I appreciate it.

I don’t know if I can shed light on the subject for you as I am not a doctor or nutritionist, so I am giving you my opinion based on experience, not medical or scientific advice.

I soak nuts to remove the enzyme inhibitors (it improves digestibility), not to remove phytic acid, as I don’t know that it can be completely removed (and probably some of it goes out with the soak water). When it comes to phytic acid in nuts (and it’s also in legumes and other plant foods), just like with the alkaloids in greens, I don’t worry about it because I am not eating large and repetitious quantities of either at any one time. Too much of anything at any one time could cause a person problems.

I rotate my greens and the nuts that I munch on and I don’t worry about phytic acids (or alkaloids). To date, raw cacao and nuts, consumed mindfully, haven’t caused me any problems.

There are many sites that go into great detail about nuts and phytic acids, and can give you a more detailed answer than I can, as in this article: http://www.marksdailyapple.com/nuts-and-phytic-acid/#axzz2M77vOLpG and many others.

I’m more instinctual and so probably am not satisfying you, but I hope I have helped in some way.

        Thanks Jane for the information.
I love your website and you. You have truly inspired me to renew my commitment to healthier eating. You make everything look so fun and delicious! You’re a natural….You should have your own TV show.
Also, I wanted to share with you that I have a Vitamix Blender that I bought 22 years ago and it still works as good as the day I bought it. I highly recommend it and believe it was the best purchase I ever made. I would truly be lost without it!
        Thanks again Jane.

What are your thoughts on eating seeds from thins such as apples, lemons, grapefruit or oranges? I always have just ground them up in the Vita Mix. I notice that you seem to “pick” them out. Thank you for your reply.
    Love, N

    • Jane says:

      Hi Nancy,
I usually don’t include them in my blending because I am not certain which ones may impart a bitter or other unwanted flavor.
Many folks do as you do, and as long as they are not toxic/poisonous, they are okay to consume. I’m sure some find their way into my blender, but for the most part, you’re right, I pick them out.
